  1. Sorry to say this @MaxthonJeff, but from what you've said in the video, it seems you are not trying to develop the best browser for people anymore, you are simply making this a playground for crypto schemes. I've spend 30522 hours using Maxthon (that's almost 3.5years of real time) over the past few years. Started using it since the era of MyIE2 actually. But in the past years the development cycle of MX has slowed down to almost a full stop. Simple bugs persist tens of version and most requested features and functionalities are ignored. There is no innovation, no interest in upping the securi

  2. with respect - do you really think the majority of people looking to choose a browser are interested in the above - they will not have a clue what you are talking about - i include myself in that - thats why the interest here is minimal - each new release gets downloaded a few time - nothing in real terms - the telegraph site/link you give has a couple of hundred contributors - where are the 700 million Jeff tells us are using Maxthon - gone i suggest you are developing a niche browser - it will have its core but that core will be minimal imo - and statements like Maxthon will provid

  6. I too remain very confused. You've set out why you've chosen BSV over the other blockchain protocols, and that seems to make sense. But you haven't answered the much more important starter question: what has a browser got to do with ANY kind of blockchain? Why do I want it? What benefit does it offer me? And how can a web browser be "built on" what I thought was a system of digital currencies?

  7. As for me, I still want to retain the Features: Sidebar Status Bar (Especially System Info for Up & Down Speeds) Night Mode (Possibly Improve) Developer Tools Resource Sniffer (Especially! Barely used but helps BIG time) Snap (Frequently used. Useful at all times). Lastly... Gmail Notifier Extension (Not sure if Chrome has a similar/better alternative but this is very useful to me) I'd probably still stick to Maxthon as my all around browser no matter the changes. It carries most of my browsing data and I feel more secured with Passkeeper than

  8. Dear Maxthon users, You may already know that we are developing next major update of Maxthon browser, Maxthon 6. Here I want to share something information about it, including its value proposition, and how we will develop it. Value proposition: For existing Maxthon users, Mx6 will keep all Maxthon5 data and implement most useful features from mx5, and providing much better website compatibility, full chrome addon support, useful chrome features. For all users, Mx6 will be the world first Bitcoin powered browser, enabling users to explore and participate the next generation

  11. I just want to agree with @Tony (if I understood you well). I just need a stable, flexible, customized, contemporary browser with many features and extensions. I don't interested in any blockchain etc technology. I used Mx from MyIE times due to flexibility, customizing and lightweight. "Maxthon is a state-of-the-art, multi-platform web browser". That's all. If you want to build a platform for mining, blockchaining, etc you should name it smth else. Everything but the browsing should be optional.

  12. "I created maxthon to please myself in the first place"... now you made me sad. With a single superficial sentence you wrote off all the years I've promoted maxthon left and right to a simple "I don't care about the users, all I care about is myself". You had chance here to say something that would bring the community together, instead you did this. You know, I've defended Maxthon when it didn't work properly in MX3, I've defended Maxthon when it cheated in html5 test and I've spent countless hours arguing with Niels Leenheer about whether it's fair to simply remove maxthon from all the t

  17. Hello Maxers, First, we want to say "thank you" for everyone’s feedback during Alpha testing. We fixed a bunch of bugs and made many optimizations with your help in April. Here are the changelogs: Functions Optimized: 1.1 Account sync and login New tab page data of Maxthon 6 will separate from Maxthon 5, and it will have a separate cloud service and sync to it after importing the data from Maxthon 5 once at the first login. Improved the logic of data sync of the new tab page Added the function to merging data for users who has multiple accounts Adde

  18. OMG.... It's a MIRACLE! 1. Will I finally be able to come back to Maxthon, after stopping usage of Maxthon after "Maxthon Classic" due to the program becoming fat/slow/bloated, and losing good plugin support? This all caused me to stop using Maxthon and start using "360Chrome" instead which provided most of the features I needed in a Browser, i.e. much like Maxthon and nothing else out there, but also had Chrome plugin support. 2. The moment I saw the result of the new Maxthon I knew you guys needed to switch to Chromium instead due to the above reasons, but sadly it took you YEARS

  19. Mobile version will be updated later. But don’t expect it comes with a lot of features because we don’t want it to be bloated. It may have some addons like ability, not finalized yet. Chrome store rule will not affect Maxthon features. We are considering to provide an additional store if we have resources to manage it.

  22. Don't worry, in a month or so, they release version 5.3.8.2xxx Beta, to fix this stable version As for version 6, in my humble opinion (I hope I'm wrong, seriously), I don't think it's going to be built, it's hard enough for them to get versions and fixes of these last ones, as to dedicate time to start a new project. What's more, the big support has always come from this community, where is it?, then in better places, obviously

  25. Dear MX developers: I am a loyal Maxthon user since the MyIE2 times, I would like to make some requests / comments: Please, MX6 forces me to keep logged in to the Maxthon account. I cannot, as in MX5, enter the account every time I open the browser with the assurance that no one will access my sites, notes, passwords as happens in others browsers, even if my pc was stolen. all Extensions, themes and configurations are lost when exiting the MX account and re-entering and must be reinstalled again!! I'd would like that the status bar to return, with all its tool. It is ver

  26. Exactly... As others have mentioned, you can't "modify" the default Google Search option link yet. So, what I do is "rename" the current Google search, you CAN edit those fields, and then I create a NEW Search with the https://www.google.com/search?q=%s Then delete the old Google search and the new link is now default, or you can make it default if need.

  27. Recently started testing and using Maxthon 6 again, {without login} There is still 1 thing I ABSOLUTELY Hate is the Tab management {Since previous versions of MX 6 had issue's causing it to crash when opening tons of tabs, i could not test this fully} The older version had a nice an initiative feel where you could still see what tabs you had, and a drop-down menu when you filled up your tab bar The newer version has the same feel as Crome giving a Cluttered mess of a Tab bar if you have lots of tabs open at the same time. {on a 24" FHD screen the limit is arou

  35. HOW TO COMPLETELY REMOVE VBOX AND BSV MODULE? Deleting bsv.7z, vbox.7z, welcome.7z, files and folder "block" from webui folder does not help. It was promised that users could remove the blockchain module they did not need. Was that a lie?

  36. I think most users of Maxthon who have benefited from it going back many years are fully appreciative -- BUT, the fact remains that Vivaldi, Opera and others have developed through numerous stages and still have a usable downloadable product, without leaving users of the old version in the dust. That is what has happened with Max 6. If too much time goes by without some usable Max 6 version, I don't see why anyone would be sticking around...

  38. 1. Snap Screen you can't "edit" the Page. So, you can "save" a copy of the page, but you can't edit it. ALL of the major screenshot extensions can do this. Further, there is a bug in snap screen. My testing it it only properly saved half the page on the one page I tried, the last half of the page was missing it's images. Now, it's possible I wasn't on the page long enough, or maybe it's something how the page loads images, etc. But, other Screenshot tools will "scroll" the page before you save and/or edit it and then saving it. 2. I do get the benefits of having some key tools in M

  41. I'm watching the latest mx6 alphas, and I don't like the way it's going. Basically, if you don't implement the features that defined maxthon, I don't know what will be the reason to choose this browser over any chrome version or derivatives (each one with its own ideas and that define its browser, example of vivaldi, opera etc, to name a few) Losing faith for moments 😞

  49. Did you miss me? Because I'm here and I will grumble... Again! What happened to your Extensions Center? After years of controversy, we finally realized that users really need extensions. But if you browsers does not have extensions what you users need, it does not mean you can just forget about the extensions that already exist. Does not matter what do we think ab out the browser, does not matter what the developers want to do with the browser, there are too many users who love it and will use even if Maxthon close the project. And this people probably would like to use the extensions.
