Hello! I see weather feature still doesn't work... been AGES now. It seems you add lots of 'little things' people don't ask for, want or use (& then have to repeatedly fix them as they don't work), but features that are popular (e.g. weather) just get ignored when there's issues! Any update on new Chromium core? Keeping Maxthon on an old core is just costing you lost users, who, despite really liking Maxthon, due to compatibility or safety concerns, simply can't stay with you anymore. It's like you're actively trying to push people away! The user base for Windows 7, 8.0 & 8.1 is so low now, it's just not worth it anymore. I know 7 is still popular in China, but even they have to admit there's LOTS of software they can't run anymore, so they'll have to upgrade to 10 or 11. Any news on Widevine? It's another 'MUST HAVE' feature that you really can't ignore.

Hey Maxthon Team, Could you guys please update the "Release Notes" for the beta releases? It would be super helpful for beta testers like myself that simple cannot jump on every single update, but we still want to be in the loop. https://forum.maxthon.com/index.php?/release-notes6/ For testers like us, it'd be great to have a clear changelog. I think MX devs are waiting for GPT-5 release so it would be probably able to help em to do update of the core while GPT-4 gives buggy output .

Hello! I'm so glad this is optional as it's the feature I dislike the most in other browsers! I notice the weather location was lost after installing this release... was that intentional? Any chance the 'multi-search' feature will ever be added back? I always found that useful, especially when searching for anything technical... Google would generally find zero (to be expected as no advertising revenue), but was handy to have DuckDuckGo, Ask & Yandex results available

Vivaldi would be a great alternative but they also completely ignore user requests. The request to open a new tab from the address bar with only ENTER (not CTRL+ENTER or other combinations) was (and still is) unanswered for 5 years (yes years). Some user implemented a fix by changing one line of code and proved it was a straightforward request even though some said it is a difficult task.

Just receive an update of my other alternative browser....... I miss proper updates from maxthon....using more and more other options. Please team! Focus on important updates!!

Hello! I see the weather applet still doesn't work... really, how long does it take to fix something that previously worked fine!? It does now show the current location's overview (when clicking the down arrow), but clicking the main bit still doesn't goto AccuWeather's website for more details.

It seems that they are lack of competent developers that qualified enough to do the core update. One of solutions is to make it open source so for advanced users I'm pretty sure it would take a few days to figure out how to update engine after getting to know with code, and I know that there reasons why sources doesn't distributed openly but I think since we are seeing that Maxhon slowly dying it would be better this way.

so many errors on passkeeper en every version, I'm afraid to upgrade. Looking to start using Vivaldi as an alternative browser. very rich on funcionalities.

@ suphamster I have 2 UA's Maxthon standard and and different one in a UA spoofer extension. I use the spoofer one most of the time and just switch off the extension when required (Youtube for example).

Hello! Yes & no... I have 1000s of bookmarks, so don't have the bar displayed. I could as it as a quick launch shortcut, but really, why should I when it's on the screen within Maxthon!? If a feature is added to Maxthon, then it needs to be useful & showing the current weather, when I can see that out the window, is somewhat less then useful, unless there's the option to expand/extend the forecast. Ideally, if they don't want to link to AccuWeather (or have been told not to!?) then just showing the next few days or hours (user selectable option) would be a good compromise.

That seems extremely unsafe! Maybe to some encrypted format.. (which one would be the other question)... But definitely not to a text based format like csv I'm still of the opinion that they should include the Chromium verison in the Maxthon version number.. i.e. chrome 109, .chr109 or .c109 at the end... Like Maxthon PC 7.2.2.3600.c109

With Google trying to destroy adblockers trough removing Manifest V2, and changing it to the much more limited "Manifest V3". Will maxthon change its chromium based core to a different one, that still allows support for adblockers like Ublock origin.

I am attaching a Network Graph Showing how Maxthon is Loading 130MByte of Data, in two loads, lasting a total of 1 minute (I have 25Mbit/sec Max Network Speed) The Red Arrow shows where Maxthon was Started.

ChatGPT seems to have changed browser requirements today and now requires the newest versions of Chrome / Chromium, Firefox, etc. Since Maxthon is lagging behind in the core department, this means ChatGPT is yet another service we can't use in Maxthon anymore.

Ha! Found the culprit! The Smart Address Bar was always toggled on but upon your suggestion, I took a look anyways and played trial-and-error with the sub-settings not really expecting anything to happen. So this is how it looks: And the culprit causing all my problems: Now all 4 sub-options are on just to play safe. But why was the option off in the 1st place? I search from the main address bar a lot and I only noticed this issue from the last version (v7.2.2.3000). Thing is, I almost never go into settings to mess with them. I wished I saw your post before I wiped everything off and did a clean install. Now I gotta tweak everything back to my liking again. But boy am I glad the issue is solved. It's been driving me crazy.

Hello. Just some general questions regarding versions. 1. Why, in the "Release Notes" section of you website there isn't a specific menu item/page for MX7 (there is a unique place for MX6 and MX7)? Also, such separation should exist in this Forum. 2. So far (even if with some exceptions), WinPC MX releases ending by a "whole" thousand (e.g. 7.1.6.1000, 7.0.0.3000, 7.0.0.2000, 6.2.0.2000, etc.), were marked as "Official", but now V7.1.6.2000 is still a "Beta": how come? What are the release numbering criteria? 3. Why mixing Official and Beta versions in the same page? Wouldn't it be easier to have also a page for "Official only" or separate Betas from Officials?
