Hello! "+ Added Reading Mode and Read alound switch to feature management" Is "alound" similar to "aloud"!? 😉 Since Maxthon is now TEN versions behind on Chromium, updating should be your #1 priority, above absolutely everything else. Still have the forced shortcuts for "NotePopup" - this should be optional during the installation. Still creates a second Maxthon shortcut in Taskbar, which is then automatically removed upon first run. Maxthon 5 used to install in 1 or 2 seconds, but 7 is taking minutes... can this be optimized!?

Hello! For a while now (multiple releases), I've noticed a massive performance drop in the afternoons on a work's PC (i5-7500T - 2.7GHz, 4 core, 6MB L3 & 4GB RAM). Pages become unresponsive (repeated wait/cancel prompts) & everything is sooooo much slower. If I exit Maxthon, wait for it to clear from Task Manager & then reload & open the same websites (i.e. same number of tabs containing the same web pages), it's MUCH more responsive & is using ~800MB less RAM! I have nothing else running during the day, except occasionally Notepad or File Explorer. This implies either a memory leak somewhere or caching issue as far more memory is allocated than should be (confirmed upon reloading)

Hello! v7.1.7.2200 to v7.1.7.5300... Have I missed 31 updates overnight!? Usually, the version numbers go up by 100, so would have expected 7.1.7.2300 next... Why the big jump? This version still creates an extra Maxthon shortcut on the taskbar (already one present) & then removes it on first run & NotePopup still isn't optional.

Hello! Upgraded to new version, but still getting 'Features' displayed before 'About' & stil only on first click & ok after. Re. the 'Widevine' issue for DRM streaming (e.g. Netflix, Amazon, BT, etc), their website says, "Widevine enables secure premium content protection utilizing free-to-use, standards-based solutions for OTT and CAS services." - that implies it's free for you to use & other web browsers are using it, so, unless you do need to pay for a licence (in which case you'll just have to do so!), this is a major incompatibility issue for Maxthon & should be your number #1 priority to implement, even more than upgrading the ridiculously out-of-date Chromium core! Hopefully, you're not trying to write your own codecs for widevine else we could all be waiting years!?

I used to like them at the bottom too but I got used to them on top I don't think I'm going to go back to liking them on the bottom anymore I'll have to get used to it again

Hi Mhzayer, the development team have been trying their best to fix the issue for these streaming platforms. Unfortunately, due to the rights of Widevine, they are unable to proceed further until they managed to contact Widevine and have access to the rights.

in 7.1.7.5400 it started downloading video, but in fact it’s not downloading but capturing video in real time - that’s not interesting to me!

Hi MichaelC362, have already feedback to the development team and management about the update of Chromium and they will look into it. This option will be added in 2400 version. MX7 includes more additional new features which may require a little extra time for installation compared to MX5. However, installation should still be done within a minute or so. In case if installation takes way longer time/ hang / fail, do notify us and we will look into it immediately.

I too notice increased ram usage and slowing down of the whole browser work. THe more I use it without restarting it, the more it slows down. After restart of browser everything is back to normal. But after prolonged use, it starts slowing down and eating system resources. It started few versions back, but can't recall when exactly.

Cents 5.0.1002.354 have multiple sessions feature (Chromium 102) It was killer feature to me since I had to log in with multilple IDs at work. What I use is SessionBox now on Maxthon, Catsxp (only 5 tabs for free user)

Hello. Just some general questions regarding versions. 1. Why, in the "Release Notes" section of you website there isn't a specific menu item/page for MX7 (there is a unique place for MX6 and MX7)? Also, such separation should exist in this Forum. 2. So far (even if with some exceptions), WinPC MX releases ending by a "whole" thousand (e.g. 7.1.6.1000, 7.0.0.3000, 7.0.0.2000, 6.2.0.2000, etc.), were marked as "Official", but now V7.1.6.2000 is still a "Beta": how come? What are the release numbering criteria? 3. Why mixing Official and Beta versions in the same page? Wouldn't it be easier to have also a page for "Official only" or separate Betas from Officials? It's now opened with quite a few instances than the previous beta👍 and taking less memmory (but this has to be tested in longer working periods to be sure but still promissing 4. Hello! I use latest version V7.0.2.1200. And "Site shot" mode works fine (as always). I have trouble with "Color" tile mode. In this mode favicon for website https://yandex.ru/pogoda/samara still broken (as in prev. versions). As i wrote before "Quick Access" header (that I mark using red cross) is useless. This element eats space only. It have height as entire row with tiles. It is critical for notebook users (notebooks have not big screen height). Please remove it and move tiles upper. Thanks!

@ Dragoncho That is indeed what UA spoofing does. Websites stop working when browser cores get to old i.e. Youtube So you have to spoof the UA to get them to work. The present Maxthon core (Chrome 103) is now obsolete in browser terms but still works. I still use MX5 with a spoofed UA but that is becoming slowly unusable. With chrome no longer supporting Win 7 and 8 (version 109 is the last supported version for these OS's) we need to upgrade the core. Jeff has stated he wants MX to continue supporting Win 7 and 8. This means any website built for Chrome 110 (i.e Win 10 and 11) onwards won't function correctly so you will have to use a spoofed UA. This is the problem Ben.L.Salomen is having with Skyshowtime.com (see other threads).

This will remove any existing QuickAccess data and allow you to import the data from your MX-5 browser. Check for updates. Make sure you have the latest version of both your MX-5 and MX-6 browsers. For some time now I'm very cautious around the "Restore" link in the top right corner of the search engine list. I'm really not going to test its functionality now since in the past it immediately and without asking erased all my manually predefined engines (tens of them) 😐 Unless this has already been dealt with, could you please consider either removing the "Restore" link altogether (users would still be able to remove the unwanted engines one by one) or add some kind of warning notification when clicking on the Restore link, something like "Do you really want to remove all your custom search engine definitions? Yes/No"? Thanks in advance for looking into this.

So the update feature does not offer you the latest official or beta (if the checkbox is checked) but only those that someone decides are worthy of auto-update? Today I have a situation: I started Maxthon on V6.2.0.2300 and notified me there is a newer version. It installed and restarted to V6.2.0.2400 instead of V6.2.0.2500. If this is intended behavior I must assure you that this is not what users expect of this feature. We expect to be notified of every new beta version and if multiple new versions are available to go straight to the latest. This applies to official versions also. Update to every latest version. QuickAccess cannot be moved to bookmarks, but you can open the webpages and then add the webpages to bookmarks. Bookmarks can be synced between the Android and PC under the same browser account.

If you unluckily lose bookmarks, you can try to restore the bookmarks by using the backup file. 1. Open Maxthon 6 browser. 2. Open the installation path, for example, D:\Users\lenovo\AppData\Local\Maxthon\ 3. Open the folder "User Data" under the folder "Maxthon" 3. Find the account folder you'd like to restore data, such as "Default" 4. Under the folder "Default," you can find and open the folder "Backups" > "BookMarks" 5. Choose a backup file, copy it, then paste it to your account folder, such as "Default" 7. Rename the backup file as "Bookmarks," no file suffix required; delete the previous file "Bookmarks." 8. Restart the browser.
