I have tried. in 4.9 it always saved but for some reason MX5 isn't saving it. Maybe Maxthon needs to add a save button for saving changed setting. I notice when I make changes in 4.9 a message is dislpayed that changes were saved. I don't see that message in MX5 which leaves me wondering if they are being saved, so I exit out of settings and come back in to make sure anything I changed is actually saved. Thanks for the reply.

After pasting in the new updated UA, uncheck the box to Use Customized User Agent and then check it again; the settings are saved message will appear at the top of the page

I am still on xp, using Maxthon 4.4.8.200 . I just started having difficulty with gmail, not displaying properly because, it says, browser is out of date.  Is there a more updated user agent for xp?  Or, would one of those listed above work with xp??  Thanks.

The strange thing is that if you are clicking from a google search to a link, maxthon uses some user agent string, if you reload (even with ctrl+f5) the page opened from a google search, maxthon uses a different user agent string....

How do you know or verify that google uses that string you mention?

Will you refire to look for a page that the user-agent tells you and check it from that same search instead of going directly to the page?

I do not know, in my case, whether searching from google or loading the page directly, I get the same (v.5.1.7.2000) (if that is what you were referring to)

Yes, it started recently, maybe a week ago. Before that, everything worked fine. You're right, most likely there was some kind of update on Youtube. From the above quote, it should have been clear that I have Windows 7 and the browser version is Maxthon / 5.3.8.2100. While temporarily changed the user agent content to this (removed maxthon and Opera):

I've noticed several ViolentMonkey scripts no longer work on YT recently.

I completely disabled ViolentMonkey - scripts have nothing to do with it.

No, it doesn't work.
We need to find another solution to the problem.

I conducted another experiment: instead of the word "Maxthon" in UA, I substituted the word "Magdalene" and it worked!
I.e., there is clearly a reaction to the word "Maxthon". What the hell?!?!

I'm bamboozled by this as well, as the UA I gave you works for me. I'll do some research and get back to you.

When you disabled ViolentMonkey did you refresh the tab? You need to.

Is anybody else following this thread who can try these UA's to see if they have the same problem as Sergey?
