Can you check on a clean portable version? Don't log in to passport if you use it.

From my end (and according to the changelog) it's definitely been fixed, so doesn't make sense that it won't work at random like that.

The same thing happeneding here with the 5.0.1.3000, videos frequently don't start. They flicker many times then report that exact same error. I have cleared cache, refreshed page, restarted browser but still no luck. 

 

 For instance this one works (they are just random pages, but from the same site)

edit: I have made a full clean installation removing all user data from my PC.

Your second link doesn't work in Chrome, Vivaldi, Edge, Brave, Opera or Firefox, so it has nothing to do with Maxthon.

It worked (just tried again and it works fine) in Opera (41.0) and Firefox(49.0.2). But not in Maxthon.

 

edit: Firefox was out of date, updated and still works.

Then if must be a restriction here in the USA, which they do, that won't let the player load.  Have you tried in Retro Mode or have you tried changing your UA to Chrome?

 Yes, it will be restricted in the US. No I have not tried UA to Chrome. Will try to figure out how to do it, used to know my way about Maxthon but all the changes make it a bit unfriendly. Give me a few minutes to figure this out and I will report back. Thanks for the hint.

Go to Settings/Advanced and scroll down to the bottom and you can change the UA there.

Okay, thank you for your time #1 Fan. I don't care for American Football so I will live till it is fixed, just hope it does not impact on other sites. I have to say this is the first video that has not worked for a long time, Twitter used to be unusable a few weeks back. So going in the right direction.

EDIT: It works with Explorer 11 as the UA. Not tried any other, but hey at least now I know. Thank you for giving me a heads up. Peace and Love to you and yours.

For me everything works correctly. Mx 5.0.1.3000, clean portable version.

Thanks for the info Galileusz, I don't use the portable except when out and about, but still a great thing to know.
