Thanks for helping us confirm this problem.  We will fix it ASAP. sorry for this inconvenience. and so thanks your feedback.

Many of us have the same problem and reported on the Forum. Apparently there is no solution available at the moment. The only way I found to get it working is to use another navigator. Firefox works perfectly.

Not correct.  I have absolutely no problem playing video or GIF's on Twitter.  So there is something wrong with your set-up.

... I tried with portable version, and still no go. if it's a setting, then it's outside maxthon (windows 10 ? graphic card ?)

I haven't taken the time to check all my settings or try the Portable to see if that works, but I play all the videos and GIF's on Twitter without a glitch.  I haven't tried with the latest version of Windows 10 that was just installed, but I will and report back.

Here's a Microsoft video that when I scrolled to it, it automatically started playing.

Also works here. As do most (all?) GIFs on the page.

The direct link is: https://twitter.com/i/videos/743860800670994432 which seems to be an embedded facebook video according to the source.

    But this one doesn't work:

This one is a link to an .m3u8 file, which is a playlist file. So somehow either maxthon doesn't deal with the playlist correctly, or it can't deal with the media it's trying to stream. And I think these are the videos that are causing the issues.

If you say that video works for you, then things get more confusing for me.

So i've been playing with this a little.

This is the code for the .m3u8 file, just more links to the media files at various resolutions. :

    #EXTM3U
    #EXT-X-STREAM-INF:PROGRAM-ID=1,BANDWIDTH=320000,RESOLUTION=240x240,CODECS="mp4a.40.2,avc1.42001f"
    /ext_tw_video/738400980417417216/pu/pl/240x240/5VA_NQSrpN7qLYKq.m3u8
    #EXT-X-STREAM-INF:PROGRAM-ID=1,BANDWIDTH=832000,RESOLUTION=480x480,CODECS="mp4a.40.2,avc1.42001f"
    /ext_tw_video/738400980417417216/pu/pl/480x480/6gbGuTG8o3T-_8M2.m3u8
    #EXT-X-STREAM-INF:PROGRAM-ID=1,BANDWIDTH=1280000,RESOLUTION=720x720,CODECS="mp4a.40.2,avc1.4d001e"
    /ext_tw_video/738400980417417216/pu/pl/720x720/tz-c9IwqRlmD4_QE.m3u8

And here's what i've found out.

If you add https://video.twimg.com to the start of each URL then the video's will stream in any media player.

So, that means somehow Maxthon isn't transferring or is blocking the top-level domain from whereever it needs to be to make it work. The m3u lists are designed so they can use relative URL's, so this shouldn't be an issue unless MX is doing something weird or wrong. Not sure if that's an (old) blink issue or something else.

Either way doesn't look to be a user fixable issue. unless  @No.1MaxthonFan can prove me wrong and that same video works for him.

Happy it works for some of you guys but for many others it doesn't!. I have this issue on four machines. One under W7 and three under W10. No idea what is causing the problem but everything works fine when using Firefox. See the other post: http://forum.maxthon.com/index.php?/bug-tracker/general-support/videos-r67/#comment-237

I also have trouble on some websites and Twitter. Facebook and Youtube videos play just fine. The bigger issue for me is Twitter videos. Win 10 and MX 4.9.3.1000

    Hi BGFun,

It seems that the original post is long days ago. I test the video link in related thread and there's no problem for my 4.9.3.1000, win7.

Could you give some links for those problem video on Twitter or other website? I will test on win10, too and will revert to the product manager if the problem remains.

https://twitter.com/CharlieDaniels there is a video on this page.

I'm so happy to tell you that this bug has been fixed in updated version for MX4. The changlog for this version mentioned that.

V4.9.4.100 has been under final test and will be released soon! I test this link on v4.9.3.1000 and was told "This browser does not support video playback", but it went smoothly in v4.9.4.100.

    So stay tuned!

And what about for us using 4.4.8.2000? The problem still exist. And 4.9.4.100 version is not for me.

It's just a chrome replica, with many futures missing from whyat 4.4..8.2000 has.

Can you please do something for version 4.4..8.2000?

    I understand your feeling...:(

Anyway, I will forward this suggestion to the product team for their consideration.
