Gmail sees maxthon as Chrome?

Recommended Posts

I just logged into my online gmail account on my Android tablet, using Maxthon and was informed that Chrome under Windows had logged in, in another State, at exactly the same time. Gmail also told me that this version of "chrome" was no longer supported.

So not only is google telling me I am using Chrome, but also that I am working in Windows and from a state that places me 4500km away from my location

OK. Some ideas about some of it. Firstly I am using Desktop View Mode, so maybe that's "Windows" (?). I do not give my location to Google, so maybe that's the incorrect location thing (?)

But Chrome?

Thanks for any help

Nick

In a separate post, I drew attention to Google Calendar rejecting Maxthon, saying the

browser did not work with it.   This seems to be related to this issue involving Gmail.

Has anyone at Maxthon checked this issue out?  Thanks...
