baardmeester
Is it possible to set the searchbox keep the same input on all the different tabs(like in firefox)? Without it the searchbox is kinda useless and I'm used to using it a lot. Also is it possible to set the searchbox keep the same size instead of changing size on selection? That's sad to hear. I'm trying out new browsers to replace Firefox/Palemoon and Maxthon is almost what I'm looking for straight out of the box. I'm just missing the ability to do some of these small tweaks and maybe 1 or 2 extensions.
7twenty
Keeping the search box the same size should be a quick skin mod. Having it save the text input over multiple tabs could probably be done as well, but not 100% sure on that. Just to clarify, we're talking the searchbox in the navbar, correct? Not the find in page search accessed by CTRL-F. For extensions have a look at extension.maxthon.com.
baardmeester
Yeah, I'm talking about the searchbox on the navigation bar. Does Maxthon run every tab as a different process? Maybe that has something to do with it. Are there config files, similar to userChrome.css on Firefox, to change to get ui tweaks like the same size searchbox? 7twenty
It does use a number of processes, I don't think it's per tab though. I think it's based around each function eg. extensions/plugins/main tab and some others. I'm not familiar with the userChrome.css. Maxthon skins files are just HTML/CSS, so if you know your way around that you should be able to figure it out. If I get a chance I might have a look before Christmas comes and give you some more details on what you need to look for.
