Would you like your mailbox behaved similarly: didn't allow delete messages and delete obsolete by itself? This may be an option but not the only way. The button allows you to mark as unread one message, which is not convenient when there are hundreds of them. Existing Feed Reader is a toy rather than a tool and does not allow to use it constantly.
