Sandra Mary
When I have made a search, I would like it if when I clicked on an item it opened in a new window, so that the original window with my searches remained in place. I know I can do this with Ctrl-click, but I would like it to do it just with a click. Is this possible?
engineer
See Maxthon settings by rightclicking on statusbar
7twenty
Use gestures. Click the link and while still holding the button move slightly (or a lot) and then release, the link will open in a new tab.So while it's not "just a click", it is still using just one motion. Once you get used to gestures, you'll find they really speed up everything you do.
fOrTune(r)
Yes. You can use middle click (if you use mouse) or drag-n-drop link.In general you can indicate this in the settings of the search engine - Google have such option, then you can use normal left click (until coockies remember this option). Sandra Mary
Thank you all for your help. I hadn't used mouse gestures before - that is certainly easier. But I couldn't find anything in the Maxthon General Settings or in the Maxthon Search Engine settings that would make a simple cick by default open a link in a new window. It is perhaps not a vital need!
fOrTune(r)
New WINDOW? MX can't open new windows from links unfortunately. Only tabs.

fOrTune(r)
Then as I wrote before - middle click can help you. There is no any settings in MX for opening links in new tabs - but you can set it in search engine settings page (like https://www.google.com/preferences)
