Hi everyone,
I'm having a strange issue with Maxthon and I'm hoping someone can help.
I was unexpectedly logged out of my Maxthon account. Here's what's happening:
Working Method: If I launch Maxthon using a direct shortcut to the profile (pointing to Maxthon\chrome_proxy.exe --profile-directory="Profile 1" --app-id=hbhbpmmelamghokgoogipejgcgnnflig), everything works perfectly. I am logged into all my websites, my passwords are saved, and my Quick Access page is correct.
The Problem: When I log into my actual Maxthon account through the browser's login, the profile loads blank. All my data (Quick Access, saved passwords, etc.) is missing, and it looks like a fresh, default profile.
My Attempted Fix: I noticed the working "Profile 1" was now labeled as a "Guest Profile." I copied its files over to the new, blank profile that was created when I logged in (which I believe is "Profile 3"). This restored some data, but now I have to log in to all websites again (cookies are gone). Furthermore, the Quick Access page still shows default sites.
I tried specifically copying the QaConfig.dat file from \User Data\Profile 1\QuickAccess to Profile 3, but it didn't change anything. I tried to recover via backup but nothing happens when I 'restore from local'.
Another Symptom: When I open Maxthon while logged into my account, the screen very briefly "refreshes" or "flashes" (it's very fast, about 0.1 seconds) before loading the blank profile.
Has anyone experienced this or know how to force Maxthon to properly link my account with the correct local profile data?
