Hello!
Opera web browser, today, released a new feature:
"...we’re introducing Video Skip to Opera One, Opera GX, and Opera Air. It’s an experimental feature that lets you skip over video ads or unwanted content that appears before what you want to watch."
This 'new' feature was built-in to Maxthon many, MANY years ago!
You were so eager to let users know about it, you didn't even bother to translate the Chinese notice!
However, for no good or obvious reason, you removed it & now Opera is claiming they've invented something new.
For at least 10 years, Maxthon had a built-in ad-blocker (was even listed on the Ad-Block Plus website, saying built-in to Maxthon), but then Opera release the same thing & you removed it from Maxthon (looks like you took a bribe, so Opera could claim (lie) to be the first browser to include this).
Maxthon was the first browser to bring many new features & technologies to web browsing & that's what attracted users to it (although, for China, the main draw was it's ability to bypass the "Great Firewall of China" (part of the "Golden Shield Project") censorship.
Instead of removing existing features or making them a paid option, perhaps better to keep them & advertise those features that you invented & have that others don't.
Also, you really need, once again, to include a built-in ad-blocker again (Opera, Brave & even Vivaldi have one, so you're missing/losing users because of it). Obviously, one can install many different extensions, but things like blocking ads & tracking, things people actually care about, should be built-in.
I'm told, your 660 million user base has now dropped to 140 million - there's clearly only one reason for this, not keeping the Chromium core up-to-date - I/we/everyone keep telling you this, it's not optional, it's not ok to leave it for months or even years, you MUST keep the core updated, else that 140 million will lose the "million"!
