The lack runs back all the way to MyIE but it didn't really matter then because third party cleaners could preserve ie based cookies. In Mx3 & 4 webkit/blink these cleaners don't do it, nor is there a provision to retain selected chrome cookies as far as I know unless it is a dual mode chrome offshoot browser like Coolnovo where the ie mode cookies can be preserved. If anyone knows of a secure cleaner or chrome extension that can do this in chrome it would be worth asking the author to extend the function Maxthon, I find small independent devs are usually obliging - if it is possible. The cookie monster dev extended its capabiliity to (the now undeveloped) K-meleon upon request after km had swapped to a squlite format.
