AdblockPlus

is it possible to have the list used by AdBlockPlus in Maxthon? The current adhunter is somewhat ineffective. But when I use CoolNovo, I'm able to filter out all ads and pop-ups and click-jacks.

Is there a way to port ABP to Maxthon? Or to somehow fuse it with the current adhunter?

Thanks

How do I do that? I'm using Mx 4.1.1.1600 beta. Portable version.

D/load and install the addon. Click the button and select preferences. In the subscription tab select the rules you want from abp and click the download button. That's it :)

Another option is to download the Violentmonkey extension and get some scripts like AdRemover + New Ad Killer for facebook both that you can find on userscripts.org

Let me try asdf1234's option. the adblock and adhunter are still not working. mx 4.1.1600-beta porta ...

Could you please give an example of where it's not working? I KNOW that it is working on my machine, most certainly on the sites I visit such as FB, google news, yahoo, etc.

And when I do come across an ad I can use Noads to block them with a simpe click, not always, but most of the time.

Well actually i have tried 3 forms for block ads on Maxthon,

No Ads, it make my maxthon a little slowly maybe my pc.

Violent monkey + scripts fast but doesn't block all ads depends on the web.

URFilter being using this for a bit with Fanboy list and 0 issues blocking ads, it even got a pornographic filter. :p

I noticed the slow down with No Ads as well (doesn't block everything like Adblock like Youtube video ads), haven't tried Violent monkey and URLFilter didn't seem to work on some ads (like Youtube)

Adblock is the only thing holding me back from using Maxthon as my main browser. Everything else seems great so far, I actually like it better than Firefox.

For the average user, Ad-Hunter in its standard guise is pretty poor. To block a decent range of ads and pop ups requires a user to delve into what is probably a more technically challenging area than what they are comfortable with. I'm sure that this is an area that could be better managed by the powers that be.

What do you think ?
