Hello!
I noticed some time ago, but every now & then, the number of updates counter, when installing overtop an existing installation, is reset to 1.
So, although I have installed Maxthon updated versions MANY times, it now shows "9".

Also, the last 'stable' release was well over 2 months ago.

What's the update on a newer Chromium core as you're now 9 versions behind!?
Not keeping that up-to-date means you're constantly having to fix bugs that are already fixed in a newer core!
It also means incompatibility & security issues are only increasing, the older Maxthon gets.

You'd appease a LOT of people's complaining if you just kept the core up-to-date & got Widevine working.
I stick with Maxthon as it's the fastest browser I've tried & I like the look & features, but I still MUST have at least 1 other browser installed (I have Opera + DuckDuckGo) for instances where I can't use Maxthon... I'd rather only have 1 browser & I'd like that to be Maxthon!

When you've previously said a new core means a complete rewrite each time, that either simply can't be true or you're doing it wrong!
Since other one-man-bands (you've cited the "developer", rather than "developers" before) are able to keep the core updated, surely it's just a matter of using the new APIs?

Totally agree
Nowadays with the help of the AI it's obviously mere laziness in keeping up with the latest Chromium update
I'm sure there is something wrong with their approach 
I said it many times
instead of keeping us outdated 
they should have a strategy to implement the new Chromium updates ASAP to a new Beta version this way 
we can rest assured that the stable will not be far away from the updated Chromium

Unless they consider changing their strategy 
We'll just keep testing old bugs and issues that are fixed by Google

Please Devs don't think separately consult AI 
This will surely get you in the right path

Whether Maxthon is defined by default or not, I have the same problem of automatic association of .URL with Maxthon, every time Windows starts up

Hi BugSir009, It's not the extensions' fault (I have minimal ones, after all), the Google Translate extension "translate this page" works fine.

That's what I'm doing, but every time I restart Windows it's Maxthon that always comes back in the .URL association.

Unfairly, it worked for a very short time and now the same things I mentioned.
it works well (for me) only when you are anonymous windows.

I uninstalled Maxthon completely, then installed the Portable version of Maxthon. I no longer have the problem of associating .URL files at each start-up. So I'm going to stick with the Portable version.

The following websites do not open on Maxthon but they open normally on Edge. These are example of pages, but the general main websites have given me trouble for the last several versions.

If you go to the mx://flags page and reset to default, then click the restart button, the browser does not restart. The processes hang. The browser can only be launched if you kill the processes or restart the computer.
The problem is known from version 7.3.1.4200.

Hi Pablo(92131), no issue opening all the listed websites on my side. You might want to check on your extensions or firewall.

Hi BugSir009, I don't think it's Google's fault because sometimes it works but it's very rare.
On the contrary, the extension Google Translate/translation of this page always works.

I tried all of the options under "Delete browsing data" and they still don't open. Just blank pages and it seems to slow the browser down. Is there any way to clear the cache?

I tried this. Not sure if it did anything as I did not receive a message. But it still does not work. I tried the browser on a different computer and the websites work. So not sure what the problem could be.
