Cmd-W keyboard shortcut for closing tabs not working

On every Mac browser, Cmd-W will close the current tab. However, on Maxthon, it quits the browser, which is quite annoying.

Enabling or disabling the More Shortcuts feature in Gestures in Settings  sometimes makes it work properly for a short while, but then it goes back to quitting the browser instead of just closing the tab.

All preset shortcuts in the Mac version are displayed as Windows shortcuts, e.g., Ctrl+. Unfortunately, changing them to custom shortcuts is not possible. For example, when I try to enter Cmd-W, it quits the browser instead... 🤦🏻‍♂️

Please advise what’s going on and how to make Cmd-W close a tab instead of quitting the browser.
