Can't install addons

Hi there,

Maxthon advertises itself as the best browser for YouTube (https://blog.maxthon.com/2024/08/24/best-browsers-for-youtube/#:~:text=looking for an optimal browsing,ensuring seamless viewing of content) and promises an uninterrupted YouTube experience. However, I cannot find any ad blocker in the settings. From a forum, I learned about the Ublock Origin extension and AdBlock. When I try to access the Google Web Store, I am unable to install AdBlock or Ublock Origin. I receive the message, "This item is not compatible with your current Chrome version." The same issue occurs when I try to install the Komodo extension.

I am on a Mac and I just installed a fresh copy of Maxthon, so I assume it is the latest version.

Can anybody please advise what's happening with the inability to install extensions and also the "built-in ad blocker"? Switching to Maxthon from Brave has been a lil' painful so far. 🥴

Thank you for your reply. My Maxthom indicates that I have the latest version. This is my first installation (installed basically out of the box) in over 12 years, back when they first launched the browser, and I only tried it briefly back then. I'm not sure what you are recommending I install or why my updated version isn’t working properly. I am on Mac and the links seem to be for the beta version, is it not?

I installed the updated Mac version, but it hasn't made any difference. I still can't install those add-ons and am getting the same message: "This item is not compatible with your current Chrome version." I also still have no idea where the ad blocker is or how to enable it. 

Additionally, the pages freeze and do not unfreeze even after reloading. This page was frozen as well, and I have no idea how to get it working. There are so many bugs in this browser that I will have to list them one by one in different topics.

Please advise.

Hi egoruk, noted I will inform the development team about this. But you might have to wait till the next version for any updates.
