Maxthon PC 7.3.1.1102 alpha

the new post of MX files by bugsir contains a different version of alpha 1102; this time MX is working but with a warning of win defender when you try to launch it for the first time. I haven't done much investigating, but since I use maxthon for fun, most of it works. always used the portable version.

Great! This version also started normally on my system. /Win11 Pro 24H2/ I only tried the portable version.

maxthon 7.3.1.1102 is very slow and the search engine returns to its default and does not stay on the item we set, And this happens randomly.

Does anybody else have problem that sometimes text becomes gibberish for about a sec when scrolling the page and at downloads list? Also sometimes when I close a tab with some site it just start flickering like hell at place where closed tab was so only opening new tab helps to stop it.

When you set up Smart address bar like this you still get suggestions from history, bookmarks etc,

History page bug has returned again.

I don't need it. I don't sync to any other devices. I gave up my smart phone nearly 10 years ago because I very rarely used it for anything but the phone. I don't need it now either.

Hi,
I have Win 11 Ent v23H2, I work with Maxthon portable version and none of the last 3 versions work for me 
(7.3.1.1100 - 7.3.1.1101 - 7.3.1.1102) I managed after several tests to get the version 7.3.1.1102 working in the Windows Sandbox environment (probably the other 2 versions also work this way) and only with the creation of Guest which by default works as long as I copy all the files from the sandbox to my hard drive (if I run 7.3.1.1102 straight from my hard drive none of the last 3 versions work) BUT only as a Guest, when I put my User Data folder it doesn't open at all (Maxthon remains open in memory) but it doesn't work.

I'm stuck with version 7.2.2.6000 until a version comes out that will work on my PC.

Hi Pablo(92131), may I know which version are you using? Have you tried to disable all extensions and see if it helps?

When I installed maxthon_portable_7.3.1.1101_x86_alpha.zip as a fresh install with no copying in of the User folder from Mx7.2  I found that all the extensions I had ever downloaded were all enabled. This did give me a few issues until I discovered the 100% enabled list and then disabling the ones I don't use or need removed the bugs that I was blaming on the Alpha.
So far so smooth here.

When I saw this comment only then I noticed I'm not logged in Maxthon, but only in local account (same like Maxthon e-mail). What I've done? Now I must log in every time and... when I open my Maxthon account, everything started from 0, like new fresh Windows. All cookies and site settings gone. Now I prefer local account. But I'm confused? How local account is different from Maxthon account. Maxthon 7.3 acted like very different version. 

Is it possible to transfer all settings of local account (wich was logged in Maxthon account in previous version) to my Maxthon account. I guess not. I know if I reinstall version I lose everything in local acccount. I must log in time to time to Maxthon account for sync, but it's annoying. I used just to open Maxthon, log in was automatic.

Edit: User Data folder have Profile 1 (7 GB) and Profile 2 (500 MB), so they are, I think local and online account. Maybe transfer is possible?

I'm using version 7.3.1.1102(64-bit). I did disable my three extensions and the problem remains.

Try to restart maxthon in safe mode not just disabling the extension

Hi, you only copy the "User Data" folder every time you install a new version, (from the old version to the new one, in the new version, delete the "User Data" folder (if it exists) before paste.

I do this every time in the portable version and everything is ok.

Also, your folder "User Data" is too big, you have to delete what the folders contain:

Profile 1: (the same in the profile 2)

\User Data\Crashpad\reports

\User Data\Profile 1\Cache

\User Data\Profile 1\IndexedDB

they contain temporary files which I clean every time I install a new version (I'm guessing you have over 3GB of temporary files).

Also, for your convenience, you can do what I have done (if you like), that is, you can make shortcuts e.g. on the Desktop, of all 3 folders (screenshot). (the procedure is very simple, right click on each folder you want and from the menu that appears select shortcut on the Desktop).

Well, usually IndexedDB takes more space but this time 1.5 GB only, I clean it time to time, but I was distracted by this log in thing and I totally forgot how the hell 7 GB and IndexedDB only 1.5 GB?! Crashpad and reports have only 220 MB together. 😛 Let see what is taking other 5.5 GB of space? Oh, and now not 7 GB but 8.32 GB.  Checking every folder. OK there are big folders:

File System = 2.89 GB

Service Worker\CacheStorage = 2.39 GB

Any advice from developers or Migel, can I reduce somehow these 2 folders? 

Also what happens if I copy all content of Profile 1 to Profile 2? Will be identical?! So maybe cookies and settings of local account will be available in Maxthon account. Of course, first must reduce size of Profile 1 because I already have 6.7 GB free space only on C partition (65 GB total).

For example look my QA with local account and then with MX account. How cute looks icons, but when I log in they're missing.

Interesting. MaxNote is fixed when I logged in on my MX account. Because until then I wasn't logged in. I had no idea. I was on local account. But this is something else.

My User Data folder = 3.36GB 

My profile 1 folder = 3.18GB

My file system in Profile 1 is only = 4KB

My Service Worker\CacheStorage = 129MB

(I have the same User Data folder the last 4 years about and only clean the 3 folders).

I would back up these 2 folders and then delete them and test if it works properly.

Εarlier I had tried to copy one profile into another and it didn't work.

ALWAYS KEEP BACKUP the User Data folder before doing anything.

Edit: download the portable version or install the latest version and DO NOT copy the User Folder but connect to your data and do SYNC from the top right menu with the 3 dashes (-).

It's not just gmail that loses the passwords, but something is happening with all the Google accounts and the passwords are lost for no reason after a few hours of Maxthon being open and not when I close Maxthon as I thought.

@Migel, I deleted both folders without back up. It was risky. I just sent them to Recycle Bin and restarted Maxthon. Nothing happened, only MaxNote again keeps "loading" but I don't use it frequently. Also, for some reason I could not find File System folder on Recycle Bin and I moved CacheStorage to C and restarted the laptop to see if any change. Nothing changed so I consider it was safe to delete both folders and save more than 6 GB space of C. Only thing is now I prefer local account because if I log in with my MX account it's like opening it for first time, like fresh install. I have many cookies and settings, so I back up them before I reinstall Windows. Have a good night!
