judgedredd007
Due to something that has happened to my browser (the pop up window that is now appearing every time I start the browser or try to go to a site, as shown in the image below) I want to reinstall Maxthon as a fresh install by uninstalling completely the Maxthon program using Revo Uninstaller but I do not want to lose all my shortcuts on my new tab page. Is there a way to save these links as a file or save as an xml file/page? Here is an image of the links I am talking about:

judgedredd007
That worked somewhat. That pop up has gone. Now, some websites come up right away, some do not come up at all and give a 'Site can't be reached' page, and some do load but take a long time to do so (the one that did this no longer does it). Very weird. Maxthon-broser-behavior.mp4
judgedredd007
I have discovered that its the Free VPN for Chrome - VPN Proxy VeePN that does this. This must have happened when it recently updated itself. How can the developer be told about this?

judgedredd007
The original question still stands though, how do I save the links on the new tab page so that I can have them appear in a fresh installation?

Hi judgedredd007, you could choose to restore quick access from local in settings or you could keep a copy of the quick access folder in your local drive. judgedredd007
Hi, Where do I find this folder? I tried looking for a 'Quick access' folder but couldn't find it.

judgedredd007
I have posted about this but no one has responded (slightly different question though). I am using the Maxthon Guest Account (I don't have an account and refuse to create one) and am really having an issue to restore the QuickAccess links I used to have in the guest account. I have copied the QuickAccess folder that used to be within the Guest folder (though the guest account folder didn't even have one originally) and it still does not bring my Quick Access links back. Yet the generic Quick Access links that come pre-installed appear on the new tab page when I have it set to show the Quick Access links there. Where are these located in the Guest Account folder? >> C:\Users\cas\AppData\Local\Maxthon\Application\User Data\Maxthon Guest Profile as I can't find them anywhere. judgedredd007
Can someone please answer this as I am very frustrated as to why my QuickAccess links are not showing up when I copy that folder over.
Jus2021
I will advise you to back up regularly the "User data" (2 or 3 copies) before updating the program because Maxthon has a lot of problems. Maybe you can also disable the automatic update and pass to manual to avoid surprises. In my case, I have some copies according to versions (for instance User data_7.1.8.9001, User data_7.2.2.3200, User data_7.2.2.3000 etc ) and I delete an old User data only if the new version has no issue. By the way, I am using version 7.1.8.9001 because I had the same concern as you with the "Guest Account". I had the impression that the program was forcing me to create the account with password for the Guest Account. I refused it. And in one of my posts, I had noticed this issue to the developers because I had an issue with Guest Account and later with the MaxNote, but till now I am waiting for them to fix it. From time to time, I try the new version, but I keep my User data backups, especially 7.1.8.9001 in safety place in case that something goes wrong. In opinion, if you have issue with Quick Access, instead of copying Maxthon Guest Profile only, it is better to copy one of the old User data (all the contents not a part of it). I am doing the same thing with my portable version. I hope my advice will help you. Jus
