Anyone Use Maxthon Browser?

I have switched to Maxthon browser because it allows you to use a SOCKS5 Proxy with authentication which is something that is offered by my VPN.

I tried to look up more information regarding this browser, and their stance on privacy but I'm not sure what the community thinks, or if anyone uses it.

If I want a browser that can handle SOCKS5 authentication is Maxthon the best one to use? Other thoughts on its privacy? I'm a bit scared since it was created in China.
