perianderson
I have been using Maxthon since it was MyIE, but i am very frustrated lately. I have been using Firefox as an alternative as i cannot play videos on YouTube on my laptop, or my PC. The error is "your browser does not currently recognize any of the video formats available." Is there a fix for this??

7twenty
go to https://www.youtube.com/html5 In the "What does this browser support?" section, do all the options have ticks? if not, which ones? ensure you're using the default user agent. "Customise user agent string" should be unchecked in settings > advanced > other. Clear cache and cookies. NOTE: clearing cookies will force you to login to sites and lose other preferences. Do I need to do anything with those red exclamations?

All options should be ticked. So there is something wrong, but it's odd that YT isn't using one of the other options instead. Can you try downloading and testing with the latest portable version: http://dl.maxthon.com/mx5/maxthon_portable_5.1.5.2000.7z Make sure your installed version is closed. DO NOT login to your Maxthon passport account if you use one. Extract and run the downloaded version and see if the same happens.

I guess I have an extension or something somewhere that's causing the issue. I'll try and reset my maxthon to default settings to see if that does the trick. thank you very much for your replies and help
