Why is the Maxthon web browser not as popular as Firefox and Chrome?

Recommended Posts

well, it's in most of the top 10 lists, but normally they are so unfair.
For example the most recent this year (first result in google):
It is giving a review score of 7 to Maxthon when it is giving a 9 to Internet Explorer.

Any user who is looking for an alternative browser that ends up in this page will not have any browser after Internet Explorer into consideration...

But if you look on detail on the review, it is very unfair. For example, it says that Maxthon has few features, when it actually does have much more that are not even listed. Also it says that Maxthon doesn't have mouse gestures when it was one of the first browsers to have it???

Summarizing, this kind of fail reviews are the ones hurting Maxthon's image I guess.

I've been using Maxthon for years. I love it. I hate IE and Chrome. I don't like being forced to use certain browsers. We have a CAD software at work and when you click on a link to the internet within their software it always opens IE. Absolutely hate it.
