-ody-
as long as you have java on your computer, Maxthon uses it by default.
Silver Fox
Thanks guys; I have been using version3 which I will now update. There is no "Check for updates" button that I can find so I suppose I will have to do another download? I need Java to upload my photographs but Maxthon was not able to use it. I had to revert back to my old browser to do the upload. If I download version 4 will that solve my issue or do I have to enable Java somewhere? Positronis
Maxthon works without problems with java, does not matter if you are using mx3.xx or mx4.xx. - x64 system users must install both versions of java. you can download from: http://filehippo.com/download_jre_64/ and http://filehippo.com/download_jre_32/
Imanerd
Silver Fox replied at 2013-5-28 10:55 Thanks guys; I have been using version3 which I will now update. There is no "Check for updates" bu ... first, please delete the xml file in: c:\program files(x86)\maxthon\core\webkit\*, and then if that doesn't work, it's because of a long-time dysfunctionality of Maxthon with jre7. On that note, it DOES, on the other hand, work with java 8. Download here. YES, it's an unstable release, and I will continue putting this disclaimer because of a disagreement on the old forum: unstables are actually very stable, and half of the time, stables are not stable at all; in fact unstables, sometimes are more stable than stables, and lastly, even if it is unstable, at least it is functional: https://jdk8.java.net/download.html make sure you download and install the x32 version, because only x32 java is compatible with this x32 browser, and make sure it is JRE, NOT JDK. Hope this helps. Please let me know if this works.
