New version (5.0.0.2800) out, no announcment here

Recommended Posts

This is not good. Offical forum page with betas and offical realeses is broken. It does not list MX5 version nor latest 4.9.x versions which were there. Latest is 4.9.3.200 and I know there are newer versions. I just got new version od MX5 and I don't kow what I got, what was fixed and added and what to look for. This is terrible. It seems that with every new major relase you get more and more worse. This is not just sporadic rantling but rather justified concern. With new realease you brake something that was functioning just fine. Maxthon used to be browser that followed all the standards, could play anything and was fast. Now I have to have other browsers installed so I can visit pages that do not work in Maxhthon. This is not good!

I know MX5 is Alpha but so many things are broken beyond this.

I had already asked on another thread, where we find the Changelog. Fact: MX5 ... 2800 crashes again when Using Gestures.

But it has become better, when in 2600 I had "blue screen" on the PC, which was worse in this crash, I can at least use the Task Manager.

Where can I download the new version? I have 5.0.0.2600 and it's not showing under update. There a still a few bugs in the system but I already use it again as my main browser und a more stable version would help :)

Using Maxthon for already over 10 years and would like to keep it that way :)

if you have Mx5 installed on your computer, next time you'll launch it you should get a splash screen

Mx5 is a paid version so it may not be shown in public

This is not true. It is only that alpha version are available only to those that subsribed to it. However if we have accesss to MX5 Q&A and there was announcement for 5.0.0.2007 there should be for 5.0.0.2800 and also before we receive it via regular integrated update inside Maxthon. Changelog is mandatory for us alpha testers. Where is this changelog?

Well and what about this:

http://forum.maxthon.com/index.php?/forum/57-maxthon-official-releases-and-betas/

Thisi is not good to have two parts where you download the same thing.

also, please show me where in here http://forum.maxthon.com/index.php?/forum/95-mx5-alpha-version-qa/

i can download 5.0.0.2800 version which was provided with auto update feature? And its changelog of course.

I had the 5 again uninstalled and reinstalled and is now under about not the version 2800 but 2700 is the last version. Why ?

And where is the download-link, Ody-Lady ?

Because when I install 2600 and click about it says I have latest version, do I install 2700, says the same latest version.

Oh, sorry: I saw: " because 2800 only fixed more 2 bugs. and the download link is same as 2700 " THX

Am I reading this right? You pushed 2800 version, you removed it bacuse it contained only 2 fixes and reverted back to 2700 which is actually not the old 2700 but new one with 2 more fixes and one more bug? And we had to pull this information out of you only when someone asked what's new in 2800?

This is crazy!! Are you crazy? I don't mean in as insult, but this is something to cry for...

And what about offical maxthon subforum called "Maxthon Official Releases and Betas" which advertises as " Download the latest versions of Maxthon for all platforms" and then it  does NOT contain latest releases and betas nor information? If I didn't already had newer version than in this subforum as a random guest I could have been easily misinformed because you CAN NOT have this subforum and then another tab outside forum which is called plainly "Releases" and hide latest releases there. You should clearly label this subforum ""Maxthon Official Releases and Betas" as OUTDATED so people don't go in there looking for new versions.

Also, Q&A of MX5 is availabale only if you know the link to it or if you lucky and you find it as a small option via dropdown menu ONLY if you hower over the tab Support because if you click on it then it completly disapers and takes you to some other support page which contains support for other relases (including betas) but not for MX5.

You should organize your community page much much better.
