Dark Websites

I'm new to Maxthon, and I encountered a really annoying thing that's been happening, there's not night mode or anything enabled, yet there's a dark grey transparent layer that's covering websites and causes them to lag horribly..I don't know what could be the cause..I didn't enabled anything like that, I searched the browser everywhere and I didn't get rid of that thing. It happened after I logged in with my Maxthon account..not sure what settings that might've synced .but I cannot find anywhere what it could be so I can disable it. It's annoying having to browse this laggy, not to mention the scarce readability of the websites. It sort of looks like this.. YouTube isn't completely grayed out..it even darkens the video..I have to watch it full screen to see it in full glory without the damn layer..

Any tips or help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Which Maxthon version you're running now?

Here http://forum.maxthon.com/index.php?/topic/17794-maxthon-cloud-browser-for-windows-v4481000-officially-released/ you will find most curren version.

Did you try to perform clean Maxthon installation?

Do you have any extension installed?

If yes- try to disable them, please and check again.

Do you use some custom skin?

If yes- try to switch to default one.

You can also download portable Maxthon version from here http://dl.maxthon.com/mx4/maxthon_portable_4.4.8.1000.7z , unzip somewhere, do not log in to your Maxthon Passport, do not install any extension or skin, do not change any settings and check again all problematic websites.

After that we should know what caused your problems- or you have corrupted installation or some settings are messed up.

Hi, Adrian.

Check your Maxthon extensions and see if you have Turn Off the Lights installed and enabled.  (If so, trying unchecking it to disable it.)

Or Night Mode is another extension that does that, or upload a pic off your extensions installed.
