Segmentation Fault when Logging into Maxthon

Recommended Posts

what does "segfault" mean please ?

When a program tries to access memory that doesn't belong to it, the kernel will notify this program which will then usually crash. This is usually caused by lousy memory management (first deleting a bit of RAM and then trying to access it again).

Upon further inspection it seems to be crashing with signal 11 (SEGV).

I have no idea about what a local account even is. It only allows you to fill in email and password, no local option as far as I can tell.

Click the Create Account button at the top right.  That should guide you through the process..

If you don't sign in with your passport details then Maxthon will use a local account. All data will stay on the local system and won't be synced. Will allow you to see if it's related to something with your account, or an issue with the browser itself.
