perknh
Hello Maxthonites, I went to sign in to Maxthon for Linux and port over my Google bookmarks, apps, extensions, and themes. And Maxthon notified me that Sync has been disabled. Now I know that Google and the Chinese government have been having issues, but I hope we can keep Maxthon for Linux out of this fray. This issue won't help Maxthon for Linux' adoption at all. Maxthon uses Chromium and other open source software, but Maxthon is not Google. Still, this is the reason why I'm writing from my Chrome browser now. My stable Maxthon for Linux browser isn't syncing anything from my Google accounts. Thank you, perknh
BugSir007
Hi perknh, Thank you for reaching out. Really sorry, syncing data from other browsers was disabled by default. You can run "maxthon --disable-sync" to enable sync function and try again. Please let us know if you have any other questions, we'll be more than happy to help. Thanks for your support! perknh
Thank you, BugSir007. I wonder why this important feature would be disabled by default. You'd think Maxthon browser would want that feature. Syncing data from other browsers would be such a good selling point for Maxthon. Thank you very much, perknh
