Basically, this, but in Maxthon: https://github.com/brave/brave-browser/issues/28762 Description The entire Maxthon window flickers when running with "Fast" Vertical Sync mode enabled in NVIDIA control panel and HW acceleration enabled in browser and set do Default(DX11). Steps to Reproduce Install Windows + NVIDIA Control Panel + NVIDIA Drivers. In NVIDIA Control Panel set 3D Settings > Manage 3D Settings > Vertical Sync to "Fast" and click Apply. Open maxthon and navigate around the web for a minute (happens in mx://settings even). Switching tabs seems to trigger it the most.

Hello. In new version (7.3.1.3600, maybe some before that) with added "enhanced downloading", normal links handling was broken. In older versions (and in all other browsers!) clicking on magnet link opens associated program in windows, i.e. utorrent etc. Now messagebox "Please enable enhanced download" pops up blocking normal handling. And no, I don't need to enable some feature I don't need, plus I doubt it will open my associated program anyway. If you really want to show this message to promote your Bright feature, it should be shown ONLY if windows was not able to handle it itself. P.S. state of Maxthon development is outright terrible. Each version (both PC & Android) adds serious bugs. No reaction or communication on forums. What's next, full-screen AD popups?

When HW acceleration enabled in browser and set to Default(DX11), loading of youtube videos including seeking is laggy. White "progress" circle appears in the middle of the video, and video hangs for upto 5 seconds before continue playing. Does not happen with any other browser and when setting HW acceleration in Maxthon to off or to OpenGL (but this brings down acceleration speed 2-3x times). This circle in the middle should not apper at all actually. (change can be made in mx://flags=>Choose ANGLE graphics backend) DX11on12 does not lags youtube, but adds screen artefacts. Note: Brave had same issie but it was resolved > half a year ago: https://github.com/brave/brave-browser/issues/40657 So this is definitely fixable (and not related to NVIDIA Fast VSync mode from another report - this happens regardless).

Since one or two versions ago (I´m on 7.3.1.3400) Maxthon keeps asking me to log in every time I start the browser. I keep selecting "login using guest account", but it is annoying to do it every time I close and restart the browser (which can happen several times a day). It even generated some kind of random pseudo account, that I cannot delete, or even set/chnge its password as it uses an invalid domain (@mx.on). I am not interested in configuring a Maxthon account to log in., I prefer to keep using the guest mode. Thanks.

I'm having an issue with Maxthon constantly feeding the wrong password for my account at https://login.alibaba.com/ When I click on the credentials textfield on that page, Maxthon keeps offering the user/pass input for AliExpress, which is for https://www.aliexpress.com/ Doesn't Maxthon determine which password to serve based on the currently open URL? How come it is offering me the wrong one ?

I have noticed that some extensions tend to "reactivate" themselves after a while. Not all, but for example the Zotero Connector plugin seems to get turned on after a while, as I intentionally disable it I don't know if it has anything to do with the specific plugins or is it something with Maxthon. There was no update done to either Maxthon or the plugin, as far as I can tell. But perhaps some update happened under-the-hood and this was the reason for the automatic reactivation? I intentionally use some of these in particular times, but don't want them on after that time. Is there anything that can be done about this? Using Maxthon 7.3.1.2200.

The new version of Maxton does not connect to the synchronization server. This has been going on for several updates. Bookmarks and notes do not sync, it is impossible to log into your account from different places. The Internet works fine. All add-ons are disabled. I have already contacted with this problem, now the browser of the new version does not connect at all.

Hello, I am having trouble signing in to several websites, I am getting a message telling me my version of chrome is no longer supported by the site. then tells me to update my browser. I am not finding a way to update it and if I can't get access to these sites I'll be forced to change to another browser, which I do not want to do as I have been a Maxthon user since it first started in 2002-2003. (except for a couple years around 2009 when I worked with a company server for everything). I've attached a snapshot of one of the sites message Has anyone had this problem? and if so, were you able to find a solution?

I just lost access to another site on maxthon that I use all the time. This time it is my you tube streaming service that has always worked until now. I reached out here when the issue was with chase bank website (And still is) which I had a couple of suggestions by people here (Thank You) but they did not work. I tried reaching out to Maxthon for help but never received any reply. They used to always reply but I'm guessing that since they started the VIP service they made that a requirement for them to care. I don't have enough of whatever I needed to sign up. no option for just paying for that. They have it set up people who are into playing games so you have to go on and do certain things to get what is needed. I'm sorry, I am a grown adult who is very busy and does not have time for all of that. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. Otherwise I'm going to be required to end my 20+ year relationship with Maxthon and find another browser that works the way Maxthon used to work. Thank You

What exactly is the "--enable-dinosaur-easter-egg-alt-images" thing?

This is an updated thread replacing the previous ones that have been archived. MX 7 and 6 only function on Windows 7 or later. Chrome 110 and later only function on Windows 10 and 11. Earlier versions of Windows will remain on Chrome 109. Chrome 110 and up function in the UA for all versions of Windows. MX 7.3 series only function on Windows 10 and above at present. From MX 7.1.8.7000 (March 2024) it is possible to change the User Agent in MX 7 using the traditional internal UA modifier/selector in Settings/Advanced/ Experiments. You can also use extensions from the chrome store. I personally use https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/user-agent-switcher-and m/bhchdcejhohfmigjafbampogmaanbfkg (recommended). There are lots of others. The Qupzilla browser is now obsolete and is no longer being developed. From December 2022 I have in incorporated Edge and Opera as standard. These UAs break Youtube. Use standard Maxthon UA: just disable chosen UA extension in Extensions and reload tab. NOTE From version 7.1.8.9400 Live Chat seems to work correctly. With Windows 11 the system has changed to User Agent Client Hints (UA-CH). More information to follow as Browsers adapt to this new system. Google the term for the latest relevant information as it is adopted and evolves. You can also modify the User Agent Request Header and reduce the Minor browser version using flags.
