Also Settings > General > Window > Allow only one Maxthon window

I've tried most of those options using a clean extract of the portable version from here, and you still get the weird crash where the UI seems to freeze with a glassy/blurry effect. You can't do anything till it stops. Doesn't cause CPU or HDD spikes that I can recall, just the browser stops responding for a while.
-
I marked it as resolved as it seemed that you found the option to whitelist sites, which I assumed fixed your problem. Apparently not.

This version of Chrome is no longer supported.

CarbonPepper replied at 2015-1-20 23:43 I'm a big believer in fixing things at source "if the UA change does work for you I can't see an ... I'm sorry, but I still don't understand your hesitation to use the UA change as described assuming it works for you. Even if Maxthon did update the Linux version today, if they don't change the codebase to a higher version of Blink then the UA won't change as the whole purpose of the UA is to tell sites the general capabilities of the browser. As standard the browser should not be faking these details. But if you want to change/update them than that is a possibility. -
adult websites keeps appearing on my address bar

It seems that this has been fixed in the .900 test version. -
Drag and drop doesn't work with Microsoft's OneDrive

He has several accounts if I understand and he want use other in parrallelAh, ok then. Well that changes things. Clearly a bug seeing as it did used to work. Hopefully it gets fixed. -
The config.dat file in UserData\Users\\Config is what stores the data for search from what i can tell. Assuming the ini file that you mentioned above is the same file, then as you found you will also lose a lot of other config settings. And as I said, and seems you found out, it seems that syncing will restore it from the cloud anyway. That "fixes" it for the default user. Logging in resumes the problem. This is what makes me think it's something to do with your config file. I'm not sure if there is a way to manually sync local data? Might have to look into that.

I think the MXlist is more for Chinese sites due to the popularity of MX in China. EasyList should cover most International users. Otherwise select one of the localised lists if available.

Settings > General > Homepage Whatever you enter as the homepage/s is what will open when you use the New Tab button. I don't think you can choose what Quick Access page you can use though - it always opens on page 1.

Any chance of posting the HTML here, or at least the section with the offending code? (assuming it doesn't breach any privacy issues with the company). However I'm getting the error message (as shown on the last screenshot) and the site is not working anymore. Please advice is it possible to somehow workaround this. When running in Retro, ensure that the "Enable standard rendering in Retro Mode" option is checked in advanced settings to allow it to run with the current version Trident renderer. The page probably doesn't like running in IE compatibility mode which is what happens when that option is unchecked.

14853013 replied at 2015-1-19 01:24 I have installed the latest version. A few points: 1. There is still residual cr@p left over from maxthon 2 and maxthon 3 in this system, which the maxthon uninstallers/reinstallers/updaters did not remove. The Maxthon 2 data doesn't affect Maxthon 3 or 4. The userdata folder for Maxthon4 is the same as that of Maxthon3 once installed. 2. The only difference "a clean install" makes is that it removes your user details, but not all the other cr@p that causes problems -- i.e. it can cause new problems, but is unlikely to solve any.No, a proper clean install will remove all your userdata along with guest settings. You will be starting from scratch, although with the way the Passport account sync works, there is data that will get restored from the cloud. It must be either set within a DLL or the main executable, because manual changes to the human-readable configuration files are overwritten when the browser is restarted. There are no hardcoded default search settings. The default search for the address bar is set by the same one as for the search bar - Settings > Default search engine > Select your desired provider. If that is set to the correct one and this occurs then it's quite likely a setting could corrupted some how, which is why it keeps reverting to the old one. To test this try step #8 in the Maxthon Troubleshooting & Tips and Tricks thread. If it still happens, then test by doing #9. Please post your findings from the above and we'll move on from there. Basically if testing using either of those scenarios works, then it should be just a matter of deleting the offending file and the settings should stick once again.

Flash player on facebook broken
7twenty replied to Roly Tevion's topic in Archived General Discussion
Do you have your Flash player up to date? If so, follow the instructions as provided by Magg, or those in the Adobe Flash and Maxthon thread to ensure that Maxthon is using that version and not the one it installs with. -
SnowLeopard replied at 2015-1-18 00:20 @GHosTiK: wonder if I am undeerstanding what you suggesst? When I see "custom rules" I think of r ... In .600 the only options to add a new list would be as described above or copy/paste the list into the "Create a filter" page. In the later test versions (as you're testing) new options have been added that will render this redundant.

Maxthon browser and playing farmville
7twenty replied to 30993147's topic in Archived General Discussion
Flash is installed with Maxthon, although not the most recent version. See here for more details. -
AdminH replied at 2015-1-16 05:15 However, it can change if there are significant amount of requests for this feature. How much exactly is "a significant amount"? Is it just from the international forum or Chinese as well? As we've seen in the past there can plenty of threads made about a feature and they just don't get implemented unless the dev team already decided to add it.

"Website screenshot" option not working with new Quickaccess
7twenty replied to Leebut's topic in Archived General Discussion
Thanks to user Fedogor there is a simple tip to enable this much asked for feature. See here for the original post that led to this amazing discovery! Edit the URL by adding an extra / to the URL. eg. http://www.maxthon.com will become http:///www.maxthon.com When you click OK the tile will refresh with a screenshot! -

Just tested the above and it all worked fine. Edited the above post so it all makes more sense. At least now you (and anyone else) know how to deal with it in the future. -
Does magic fill work in Android Max?
7twenty replied to MaxthonGuy's topic in Archived General Discussion
I'm not all that familiar with Maxthon for Android, as I haven't used it for a while now. From what I recall, it does offer to save login details & passwords like all other browsers, but there is no "Magic Fill" option or feature like the PC version. If I an get my old Android device working I might look into this further. -

Sorry, somehow I missed that... You have got to love the human brain.... sometimes it thinks it knows more than it does by occasionally missing some words! Back to your issue.. what you can do is: Export your favourites using Main Menu > Tools > Import/Export user data > Export Favourites > Export your Favourites to the selected folder Open the folder you saved it to. Then right-click the column headers > more... choose URL from the list. The URL will then be displayed and you can then sort using that column. If you have a number of folders, to show all the favourites in your list, type *.* in the search field at the top. Then sort by the URL column. Then just import the data again. At that point you will get the option of deleting the current favourites and importing the new updated list, or creating a new folder with the updated favourites. You can then adjust/delete the folders as required. Also keep a backup, just to make sure in case something goes wrong. If using a passport account, once done manually do a sync to ensure the data gets saved to the cloud. Good luck EDIT: cleaned up the last few sentences to make more sense after testing. -

Tested and the following worked fine. https://startpage.com/do/search?query=%s https://ixquick.com/do/search?q=

Looks the same here. Except that you've got 100 extensions running on MX. Either way, both have an almost useless amount of screen area to view pages.
