  1. What's the latest version with the issue? I'm currently using a beta release and it doesn't have the issues described. But i'm sure I also noted this elsewhere for 4.4.5.3000. For reference the tests were: Enable preload search results + Open a new tab from the address bar enabled 1 / Enter search term into address bar [Enter] > Page preloads search results and opens in new tab when Enter is pressed. 2 / Enter alias into address bar [Enter] > Page preloads search results and opens alias URL in new tab when Enter is pressed. 3 / Enter search alias into address bar + search term [click on page] > Page preloads search results, clicking on page completes search but replaces previous page in tab (also removes tab history). 4 / Enter search alias into address bar + search term [Enter] > Page preloads search results but opens default search URL in new page when Enter is pressed. There is an error here as it goes to the default search instead of the search alias URL. 1 & 2 seem to be working as intended. 3 working, but you lose tab history. 4 doesn't work. This is an issue that has come and gone over time if i'm not mistaken. Not sure if it's directly related to preload search results.
  2. I've made up a sidebar button using that bookmarklet. Works exactly the same, press the button and the overlay opens. Not as handy as the fully featured Chrome extension with the little popup, but better for those that don't want to have the favbar open. Now available on the extensions site: http://extension.maxthon.com/detail/index.php?view_id=2872
  3. Looks like they've updated the UA's in the last one or two releases. Extra ones for up to IE11, and the FF one is showing v38 which i believe is current. I'd guess the Chrome & Opera ones wouldhave been updated as well.
  4. No lock symbol on the sites listed above here either.
  5. Works fine here. I'm sure there would be more complaints if it was more widespread. Seems to be only you at this stage. Try in Retro and test with all extensions disabled.
  6. You're not running youtube.com in retro mode by any chance are you? Extensions don't work in Retro (to the best of my knowledge) Otherwise work your way through the troubleshooting thread.
  7. There are multiple answers to your original question in post #2 #4 #5 #8 #10 #14. I'd be surprised if at least one of those didn't fix the issue.
  8. Thanks for letting us know. The Maxthon team have already been advised of this a few days ago. Obviously not fixed yet. Hopefully it won't be too much longer.
  9. I can't confirm this 100% (i'm 99% though), but it looks to possibly be related to a "special" character in the title of the site listed. When you use the "Copy title and URL" option you get the following when pasting into Notepad. A quick search shows that it's a Unicode line separator character. So it looks like Maxthon has issues with this character when it shows up in it's data files for save data (at least for last session, as history has no problems). So until Maxthon allow support, or find a way to remove it automatically from any titles saved, it's always going to happen. Some background info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unicode#New_lines
  10. It's not related to that, as I don't have that checked. When I tested, that site was one of the tabs when closing MX and the next start the last session list was empty. Going to do some more testing later on. But I'd recommend doing that test yourself, just do it on a test install or portable version so you don't have to try and get back any lost items on that list
  11. This is weird.. only thing i can think of is something in the URL is causing a conflict in the save file, so it just screws it up and MX creates a new clean one. But it looks normal to me?!
  12. There seems to have been an issue with the extension site yesterday. Many extensions weren't downloading properly and images were missing etc. Resolved itself since. It could be part of the problem, and instead of a usable error, you got a generic wrong file format one. I'd try again and see if it will work now.
  13. I found the reasons they give for extension rejection can be vague at times, or completely useless. What i did notice is that the GUID is linking to the original extension that you modded. I'm guessing it's conflicting with that as you're not updating that one. Try using a new GUID in the def.json and see if you have the same issue. I've also attached a json that is apparently in the correct format which you can use to double check that was the cause according to the error. Would be good if you can check this first and see if you get the same error. But I think the issue is the GUID. def.json.txt
  14. No need to apologise. Just think of it as a learning experience should other issues ever arise
  15. Good to see that you found the cause. I did a quick test using that extension and still had no issues. ABP enabled with standard EasyList + ABP warning removal list. With that said, this is the very reason why the troubleshooting thread was created. And i apologise for not linking to it earlier as I'm certain that if it was followed as described that you would have found the cause the same day it started happening. Part of the issue was the mention of being ad related, so i and others automatically assume it's potentially related to that, which in this case can lead you down the wrong road. I think this thread is a great example of how following the troubleshooting thread will lead you to a solution, and probably more importantly, that users should read and follow directions exactly as posted and not pick and choose from requests. The reason I say that is this... It's almost certain this could have been resolved in 2 days instead of 5. No reinstalling, clean installs, portable versions or anything required. Never come across that even with it enabled.
  16. Again, it seems there is something going on with your settings. I tested by unchecking the "block ads on this website" and the page is full of ads. I then tried by unchecking the "enable Adblock Plus" in the options screen, and it showed the same. Enabling ABP then blocked everything (that i could see). Now in fairness, i'm only testing by checking with one video and only the first few minutes. Whether something happens after watching more at this stage I can't say. But based on your posts it seems this is happening on opening the page, so that shouldn't be an issue. What filters do you have enabled in ABP? Also try signing in to you account, but disable sync for ABP. Then check with turning on/off and enabling/disabling only one block list.
  17. So then it's not Maxthon, or the site. Something related to your account is the culprit. And seeing as it works on portable, but not on your standard install logged out of passport i'm thinking it lies with ABP. If i'm not mistaken ABP rules are global, so whether you log in or not, the same rules apply. Use your normal account and test with ABP disabled. If that works, then enable one filter, check and continue till it happens again.
  18. Please test with a portable version as described in point #10.
  19. So up till now this has never really bugged me, in part because AdHunter was able to do the CSS mods. Was looking at stylish-ing up the MX forum for my use, then I remembered that extensions don't work on any Maxthon sites. I'm curious to know the thought is behind this? What does it accomplish in restricting a user from using extensions as they want?
  20. Just watched a full video using Ultra and there was no issue. Didn't restart or anything. Check with all extensions disabled, then check without running from a passport account.
  21. Hopefully there is someone with the knowledge and desire to do this. It seems it's on every other browser and operating system. They also seem to have pretty comprehensive details available along with the API for it.
  22. I don't believe sniffer is a feature that's implemented in Retro? I could be wrong, but all the sites that i've tested on don't have the sniffer icon displaying (using my skin). So it's not a fault or bug, it's like that by design. If the site is working in Ultra there shouldn't be any reason why you should need to use Retro.
  23. Test with a portable version. Don't sign in with a passport if you use one.
  24. Details in the troubleshooting thread here.
  25. Clean install Ensure the checkbox is selected during the uninstall to remove all userdata. You can then reinstall the latest version of Maxthon. Your userdata should be restored through your Passport account.
