Feature requests: The sidebar now has so few items, that is a waste of space. Why not add also posibility to drag items from bookmark? Just use page icon as icon.3 points

The 6.1.3.2601 unfortunately crashes upon start far more often than any previous MX6 release with multiple Maxthon.exe threads consuming 100 % of CPU. Please have it addressed in a timely manner. Thank you in advance!3 points

Maxthon 6 promised to be the best browser on the market. Little by little it was incorporating the excellent features of Maxthon 5, but an error persists that has not been solved and that occurs when it is executed, both in Windows 7 and in Windows 10: the program fails to start more than 50% of the times. This bug has been reported on multiple occasions and is the key point for the program to be stable and to be able to recommend it to other users. However, I cannot recommend Maxthon to anyone and am forced to use a second browser when I am in a hurry. I have a great appreciation for Maxthon, but currently I have to admit that Maxthon 6 is an absolute failure due to a bug that seems to be irreparable because it arises randomly and this makes it inconsistent. The new version 2601 continues the same. Today I am sending this attachment with the "Crashpad /reports" files that have forced me to try to start Maxthon 4 times! There is no point in continuing with more versions if this bug is not fixed. It is preferable to start a Maxthon 7 from the beginning with the basic characteristics of a good browser: no crashes, synchronism with bookmarks, fast startup, history, zoom and chromium compatibility for extensions. The rest of the features can be ignored and incorporated little by little as it is confirmed that the program is reliable. Thank you. reports.rar3 points

Exactly what I was thinking. Still using the 5-th version most of the time. Will love to have an update for it....but highly doubt e will live to see such thing.2 points

Dear developers! While you are working on improving the 6th version, is it possible to update the 5th? It is very comfortable and stable! It has a lot of very convenient and high-quality functions that many people still use, and for this they love this version very much. It would be great if you could do this. I am sure that many users would be very, very grateful to you for this!!! God bless you! 🙏2 points

The download speed is very slow, with high-speed Internet. 3.2-10 kb / s is this a normal speed for you?2 points

Try to disable the items indicated on the screenshot and check. Helped me. chrome://flags/#disable-accelerated-video-decode chrome://flags/#disable-accelerated-video-encode2 points

Hi @BugSir006, I'm glad to report that the V6.1.3.2606 (5.9test.exe) does no longer exhibit the previously reported freeze-upon-start issue for me. I've tested through many browser restarts with both tabs locked and unlocked and the app behaves correctly now with no crashes or hangs. Thank you! 👍🙂2 points

It would be very good to update the 5th version. This is a very good, stable and very comfortable product! It’s very strange for me - why they didn’t take everything that is most convenient and good from there into the 6th version! Especially bookmarks, very convenient swipe to the right and sort by date added. The convenience of working with bookmarks is very important in the browser!!! This is one of the Most Important aspects in working with the browser!2 points
-
Unfortunately you are telling the absolute truth! It would be better if they updated the 5th version! I still use it myself. Bookmarks still cannot be done by scrolling to the right. Scrollbar disappeared and does not reappear. There is no way to sort bookmarks by date added, only by name.2 points

I try to download from this link: https://dl.maxthon.com/mx6/maxthon_portable_6.1.3.2605_beta_x64.zip but it's speed is very slow (it down grade from hundreds, then tens, then less than ten kb per second), and sometimes it's even hang there (speed 0). It wasn't this way before, what's wrong? I try other site's download in the mean time, they are all normal. I try MX6 no luck, then I try MX5, no lock either. The attached sreen is from MX5.1 point

Is there any chance that the performance of the history will speed up? Because despite various improvements to the performance of the history, the speed has remained unchanged for many months. When scrolling down the list of pages viewed, you still have to wait for the thumbnails to load slowly. Searching for specific words/pages in the history is also slow. I think this is blamed on the use of a very heavy database written many years ago for the history module. If the history entries were based on text only the search would be lightning fast, but today it works on a 5950X just like on a Core 2 Duo in 2008 in other browsers I know it's the umpteenth time I've posted and asked to improve the story, but I use it often at work and outside of work. And the long wait for results really wastes time and is discouraging...1 point

It's additional work, but you could save it to your desktop and then check the properties. It appears that Vivaldi is the only one who still has it. Firefox doesn't have it either.1 point

Are you seriously? Only maxton files download at such a speed, there are no problems with everything else, and because of this I have to do everything that you wrote? Moreover, 30 dead megabytes download at a normal speed, then the speed drops to that indicated on the screen above, so it downloads some more part of the file, then the speed increases to several mb / s. Basically it goes like this: https://youtu.be/bB2f9OooPJI It rarely happens this way, and it should swing all the time: https://youtu.be/QAAQATKIPL4 And you suggest me to dig the network settings or change the provider? I'm fine with this.1 point

Hi phoenix-76, thanks alot for the video and the system information provided. We will forward these details to the development team to look into it and they will try to fix the issue as soon as possible.1 point

Hi alexzhus, please help to try this issue in the attached test version. 😊 mx_resource.zip1 point

I use 2 different Local State files; one with altered flags the other with default flags. When using the default flag file MX6 opens the last session perfectly. The altered flag file uses the settings I would use in Chrome (the version used in MX6 not the most upto date one).1 point

The download speed for the Beta files have ALWAYS been "slow" (at least at first) for me. I think they do eventually speed up generally. Maybe it's just a protection mechanism they are using for their download server?1 point

There is a problem with playing videos from youtube in HD1080 quality in AVC1 codec format . When you hover the mouse cursor over the video (when the status bar appears), it starts to slow down terribly (freeze). The same thing happens if you press pause and then start the video again. At the same time, there is a significant loss of frames - (Statistics for sysadmins - the Viewport/Frames parameter "dropped"). If the video is in VP09 format, then this does not happen. Here is an example of such a video (you need to watch it from Youtube): P.S.: Windows 7 64bit; Maxthon 6 is the latest version, but the problem has been observed for a long time, there just wasn't time to write here.1 point

Hi phoenix-76, could you provide a video to show the crash when you click on a hyperlink? Could you also send us a screenshot of the android version for your tablet?1 point

Started getting the same issue (not sure if exact same as OP), but only after updating to 6.1.3.2601. - Self-closes on startup. Some times it may take 3-5 attempts to start without crashing.1 point
-
Hello, for me the crash upon start issue remains unresolved with v6.1.3.2605 @ Win10 Pro 64bit. The CPU maxes out, I had to manually kill all Maxthon processes and retry (sometimes several times) again. My default setting for starting the browser is "Continue where you left of" which appears to be somehow linked to the problem. When the browser starts trying to reload the previously open tabs (no more than ~20 tabs) it crashes and CPU spikes at 100%. However when the browser starts without trying to reload my previous tabs (it happens after several crashes) it loads correctly and I can manually reopen all tabs.1 point

Yes, it works. But the developers can not confirm which one comes from you. Because they receive many files every day from different users and different versions.😬 If you send the dump file to me, the dev team will analyze it and solve the issue as soon as possible.1 point

I confirm what the predecessors wrote, Maxthon in this version and the previous one generates a startup error, it fires only 3-4 times. Win'10x641 point

Hi UserMx5, suggestion recorded.😊 In MX6, the website URL can also be added to Maxnote.1 point
-
Ok, I think this is where they run into a problem. Your above statement may ONLY be most important for YOU, but how important is it for the other millions of users? I cannot visualize them customizing a browser for one user. I may be wrong and if I am, I will apologize. Just my opinion, so please don't misjudge me. Was just there and played a few hands and it was working just fine, but then I'm on a GIG speed tier.1 point

I still use MX5. I only use MX6 for testing. It's development has been the slowest of any version so far.1 point

Hi sajphon, thank you for sending us the crash report. We have reported the bug to the development team for them to look into it.1 point

If you unluckily lose bookmarks, you can try to restore the bookmarks by using the backup file. 1. Open Maxthon 6 browser. 2. Open the installation path, for example, D:\Users\lenovo\AppData\Local\Maxthon\ 3. Open the folder "User Data" under the folder "Maxthon" 3. Find the account folder you'd like to restore data, such as "Default" 4. Under the folder "Default," you can find and open the folder "Backups" > "BookMarks" 5. Choose a backup file, copy it, then paste it to your account folder, such as "Default" 7. Rename the backup file as "Bookmarks," no file suffix required; delete the previous file "Bookmarks." 8. Restart the browser.1 point
-
Hello. Thank you for the step-by-step explanation. But let me disagree with one point. I found backups and did exactly as you have scheduled, but the bookmarks still disappeared time after time. Item #1 "close the Maxthon 6 browser" is superfluous and because of it, the instructions will not work! The fact is, after my bookmarks disappeared, they were deleted from the cloud (synchronization). When I restored them from a backup, Maxthon checked at startup which version of bookmarks is more up-to-date, local or cloud, and each time again reset the local bookmarks! But if you restore the bookmark file while running Maxthon, and then restart Maxthon, then the local version is considered more up-to-date and is not erased!1 point
