Ha! Found the culprit! The Smart Address Bar was always toggled on but upon your suggestion, I took a look anyways and played trial-and-error with the sub-settings not really expecting anything to happen. So this is how it looks: And the culprit causing all my problems: Now all 4 sub-options are on just to play safe. But why was the option off in the 1st place? I search from the main address bar a lot and I only noticed this issue from the last version (v7.2.2.3000). Thing is, I almost never go into settings to mess with them. I wished I saw your post before I wiped everything off and did a clean install. Now I gotta tweak everything back to my liking again. But boy am I glad the issue is solved. It's been driving me crazy.

If the quick access data of the new tab page restored to the default, you can 1. Exit the browser 2. Open the installation path, such as C:\Users\lenovo\AppData\Local\Maxthon 3. Open the account folder, find the folder "Backups" > "QuickAccess," select one backup file which you'd like to restore, rename it to "QaConfig.dat," 4. Back to your browser account folder, open the folder "QuickAccess," use the backup file to replace the current one. 5. Restart the browser To check the installation path, you can run the Maxthon 6 installation package.
