staying on chrome 109 is just a bad decision and potentially unsafe. Users who are still on win7/8 should be using Supermium, latest version is based on chrome kernel 126 and still runs fine on win 7/8. If they can do it, I don't get why maxthon devs are still stuck on kernel 109... Supermium is open source, just take a peek at how things should be done. Get your shit together maxthon devs ! Microsoft is ending support for win 7,8,10 by october 2025. Is that when you will finally decide to do the most important thing you should be doing instead of adding useless vpn, crypto and AI shit ? any unique feature of Maxthon can now be replicated with addons in a superior way, and we (I'm still counting myself as a maxthon user even though technically, I've moved to vivaldi) are just losing support for vital addons like enhancer for Youtube and websites and services (Slack ???) weeks after weeks because devs are not updating the damn kernel. the new maxthon tagline should be "the last browser running on chrome 109"... This is just pathetic imo.

When will you be updating the core to Chrome 130+?

Many extensions like this one can’t be used in Maxthon because of its outdated core and reliance on Manifest V2. I worry that if the development team doesn’t make changes, Maxthon might soon become obsolete due to compatibility issues.

Ublock Origin is regarded as the best blocker out there. There are two versions: Origin and Origin Lite. One is for Manifest V2, and the second is for Manifest V3. Maxthon is still on Manifest V2 (which is better).

I don't know about actual user numbers, but occasionally I lurk on the Chinese language forum and there are increasing numbers of vocal users over there who are also complaining about the old Chromium kernel version and extensions that no longer work. It is not just English (or other language) speakers here who are unhappy, if that is any consolation. Which translates as There have been frequent updates recently, and they are all official versions, but why don’t they update the kernel? Comments like these are frequent with each update.

Hello! When I click Menu, Help, Maxthon Community, this highlights an issue I reported before... it shows the version with the last posts, so 7.2.2.5000... I checked last night & this morning & didn't see there was a new version. Maxthon 7.2.2.5000 says it's up-to-date, but then I see an email from Softpedia informing me of a new version of Maxthon! The community page should ALWAYS show the current version & when checking for updates within Maxthon, it should ALWAYS at least let me know & prompt for update.

Hello, I've been a user since 2009 and the truth is that they've been very late in adjusting the versions aimed at the users. Perhaps it's because I'm no longer part of the users that the developers want to add. Old engine, they took away all the accumulated points, several crashes, and now the extensions are not compatible. Any chance the 'multi-search' feature will ever be added back? I always found that useful, especially when searching for anything technical... Google would generally find zero (to be expected as no advertising revenue), but was handy to have DuckDuckGo, Ask & Yandex results available

As for settings, you can go into your account local folder, copy the file 'Preferences' and paste into MX account Hi Refix2, this bug has been reported and will be fixed in future versions. I am always connected to my email, which has created a subfolder called PROFILE 1 in the User Data folder (I don't have any other folder called profile) If you log in as a Guest, it creates another Profile folder with a different name, possibly. Τhe only thing ever i do is: 1. Download the latest portable version 2. Unzip the downloaded file 3. Add my Backup USER Folder in the same folder where exist the Maxthon folder. 4. I open Maxthon and everything is ok without any prob. So far no version has given me any problems like yours. (I remember a long time ago I also did tests with the user data folder and somewhere I got confused and damaged it and was left without Backup, then I had to synchronize and then I did what you mention about it with Google warnings etc). Hi, In order to save space, I suggested you keep a Backup and then delete the 2 folders. Even so, Maxthon recreates them. If you connect to your account and synchronize your data (if you had synchronized it before the problem you have now) you will have all your data as the last time you synchronized. All your codes will return, but you will need to re-enter them on each site where you have entered codes (don't write them down, as soon as you click on the username/code field it will show you the saved codes). Windows has nothing to do with Maxthon, everything you need is in the "USER DATA/profile" folder of Maxthon. I will suggest you to download the latest portable version of Maxthon from here https://github.com/maxthon/Maxthon/releases/tag/7.3.1.1105 Unzip the downloaded file where you want, then open Maxthon and connect to your data, and you're done synchronizing. Whatever goes wrong, just delete the Maxthon folder you downloaded and everything is fine, the installed version is not affected. You can do whatever test you want without damaging your installed version, e.g. you can put the Backup folder you have, connect, and close/open Maxthon and see if everything is ok. Finally, if I understood correctly, you were ALWAYS working in a local account and NEVER in a connected account, because otherwise, as soon as you connected, Maxthon would sync the last items that were synced. Great! This version also started normally on my system. /Win11 Pro 24H2/ I only tried the portable version.

Am using 7.3.1.1102 x64 on Windows 11 24H2 on my main computer. It is working on two computers with Windows 10 well also. Have had no problems. 7.3.1.1101 x64 also worked well, though on one Windows 10 computer, it would take about three tries to get it to come up. It is an alpha version so I did not expect it to behave as well as it has. It has some quirks like the background switching colors on a New Tab. But for an Alpha, it is behaving pretty tamely.

Thanks a lot for the update. Had no obvious problems so far from using in the past 20 or so minutes. Restored tabs were shuffled around on the first start and had a crash once but I think that was from it setting up. I'm finally able to visit some important sides that previously rejected access due to chrome being too old probably and had to have use chrome sometimes, I'm glad that is resolved now. Passkeeper and Maxnote seem to work and I've not seen a synching error yet at least but I've not compared currently if it actually works. I'm glad there are no problems in this regard as that had me most worried. Cookies also are fine and this was overall a very smooth upgrade.

X64 alpha not working

Yes. Maxnote was once awesome! But now I am paying about $25 a year for a competitive cloud based note app, and for the reliability and amount of storage I get it is worth it. Maxnote was once a very good reason to use Maxthon, but now as you say it is only sad.

Sorry I wasn't clear.... I'm talking about the "Back Button History". So, when you Restore a Page, or as I've also discovered go back to a page listed in History, that page no longer has its "Back History". The page itself ONLY is shown, no browsing history prior to or after that page.
