Hello! I run Maxthon on multiple computers & use it every day & none of the recent versions have had crashes, random or otherwise for me. In the past, I've had it simply exit out, with no error reported or recorded, but not for quite a while (not at all in v7). There's still plenty of reported bugs that haven't been fixed for many years, it's still using out-dated Chromium & it still has account or sync issues occasionally, where I lose something (e.g. QA), but often just need to re-sign-in or, worse case, copy a backup file & everything's back up ok. So, for the people who are getting crashes, this implies there could be a localized issue on their computers... Mostly this is down to running poor security (i.e. AVG, Avast, McAfee, etc), meaning infections or corruption in Windows. Or have unsafe software (e.g. Google Chrome, Adobe Acrobat, Java, etc) running in the background that allowed some infection in, bypassing whichever anti-virus they have. Having worked in computer servicing & support for the last 28 years, this is something I've seen a LOT on customer's computers. With Google Chrome, for the last 13 years, 100% of computers I've seen it installed on, even if they've never run it even once (it runs in the background, 'stealing' your data, in real-time) & irrespective of which anti-virus was installed, if they'd been on the internet for a bit, then ALL of them were infected, no exceptions. There's a lot of 'questionable' extensions in the Chrome store, so we always recommend reading reviews before installing & don't just read the good, read the bad too & see why they say it's bad. Or there's a hardware issue, most likely faulty/failing RAM (check with 'MemTest86') or HDD/SSD (check with 'CrystalDiscInfo' or, ideally, 'HDAT2'), or overheating issues (common with CPU or motherboard, check with 'CPUid's HWMonitor'), or overloaded PSU (i.e. insufficient amps for what's connected), making computer unstable. Out-of-date software, that has vulnerabilities that are actively being exploited by malicious websites or attackers is another common cause of issues (we recommend 'Patch My PC' to help with that) or out-of-date device drivers that aren't fully compatible with the running Windows version & release (just because something worked before, in the same version of Windows, doesn't mean it'll still run ok in the current release... we recommend 'Snappy Driver Installer Origin' to update drivers). Out-of-date firmware in hardware is not a quick or easy one to check or fix, but it's another possibility, although much less common. Obviously, bringing & keeping Chromium up-to-date would avoid a lot of the issues reported anyway & having latest Chromium stable in Maxthon stable & latest Chromium beta in Maxthon beta, would be the best way to check problems. If everyone got the same problems, then obviously, Maxthon would be the culprit, but since they don't, then users must first look to their own setup to see if anything they have is causing Maxthon to misbehave. Yes, Maxthon does have & has had lots of issues, but not everyone experienced all those issues, so maybe Maxthon isn't always the one to blame!?

check hardware aceleration in setting disable it if it's enabled or enable it if it's disabled then restart maxthon to see if it fixes your bug

So, while I'm absolutely FOR you working on "little features" which give us users actual ISSUES when using the browser, that we need fixed or added, I don't understand why you're working on "non-priority" Features, like the ones you added to Maxnote, and others you've done? I mean, just one BIG Feature you need to Add is Password Import & Export. I don't think you realize how many users you likely lose because they can't "import" their YEARS of passwords with another browser that allows export at least. I mean, I almost didn't start using Maxthon because of this, having to entirely start over. There are of course other little nuances I'm STILL needing fixed that irritate me, though you have gotten most of the biggest (see the Features Suggestion Forum for what I still need mostly), but something as BIG as the above missing Feature, should be a priority. There are several browsers now that have this feature, you can just look at them to see how they do it.

Hello! Whilst the 'little touches' are nice to have, they're mostly features neither myself or customers ever use. Bigger current issue is the display of the weather & other options on QA screen is often hard to see due to incorrect/poor colour handling. Where weather has a background mask, that should be applied to all other QA text. Weather still has poor colour choices, making the writing tricky sometimes to see at all: (this one isn't too bad, but the temperature units are in a different colour to the rest) (believe it or not, this 'clearly' (NOT!) says "MaxNote | PassKeeper") This is the screen customers see first, so if this is a mess, they're more likely to just uninstall Maxthon & go with something else - first impressions count a lot in browser wars!

Hello! Not seeing any changes to PassKeeper, but I do see the tab vertical size issue has been addressed, which is good. Any update on when Chromium core will be updated? Been stuck on 103 for over a year now! Will you be implementing the current stable core of another old one? Would be nice if Maxthon stable had the current stable core & beta the current beta... makes more sense then & would result in far less issues

Remove the padding between the tab and the browser window. Why did you bring it back?

I think more care should be taken with translations. Since the first version 7, many options and labels still have no translation. In "Settings" there is an unsightly mix of languages. The main screen settings are all still without translation, including the "Quick access" text. A new problem in 7.0.0.1200 is the insufficient width of the rectangle for the download removal options:

Chrome 110 only functions on Win 10 and 11 so an upgrade to the final Stable version of 109 would probably be best to keep the widest user base.

In previous versions the open tabs had no upper border of the whole window frame so when they were closed with a double click there was no need to be careful not to go to the border and risk resizing the entire Maxthon window. I hope I made you understand what I mean.

Hello! The copyright date used to just be the current (local clock) year, so if set incorrectly to 2030, Maxthon would show (c) 1999-2030. It doesn't do that now, but you might want to update 2022 to 2023!

Team, As allways, thanks for your effort maintaining MX. Is a good thing to keep short weekly releases! But..... - are youworking on new features, or just bug fixing? - can you share some roadmap of features you are working on? - why not allow the community to vote on next features? Really all the work you have done on de QA page.... Also, having configurable features to setup square or roundend box search.....seems items not too important. Anyway, thanks again.

Fix the specified bug. \Maxthon\Application\7.0.0.1200\webui unpack the download archive, open the css folder and look for the line in the index.css file .download-header-remove-menu{position:fixed;top:60px;right:10px;width:150px; in it we change width: 150px; on width:250px; save, archive with the 7z archiver and get the result. I am attaching the already corrected archive download.7z

With only 5% of Windows users using Win 7 and with Microsoft already stopped selling Win 10 an January this year is it worth hampering the development of MX7 for compatibility with an obsolete OS. We will be stuck on Chrome 109 for the foreseable future

The name of this file implies you're using Chromium v108... Surely, that's not going to be the one you upgrade 103 to!? For greater compatibility, really 109, the last version that supports Windows 7 would be better, but for fixes & security, ONLY the latest version should be used. Again I say, latest stable Chromium for Maxthon stable & latest Chromium beta for Maxthon beta would give the best user experience.

When I add a new shortcut to QA & select Site Shot, I just get a transparent block, but if I edit that & change to Color (still spelt wrong for UK!) & then back to Site Shot, it is then displayed correctly (refreshing the tab or all tabs doesn't fix this). For the built-in images, still no UK versions, so no amazon.co.uk, ebay.co.uk, bbc.co.uk, etc Many years ago, you had selectable images from a pre-defined list, even multiple ones for well know sites (e.g. YouTube), so one could add 'any location' (e.g. amazon.de) web address & just select the image... I know I've said it before, but could you not just read the 'favicon' from the website like other browsers (e.g. Opera)? It appears you are doing that when Colour (Color) selected, so could that not be used for Suggested Image!? UPDATE: Now, doing exactly the same, the Site Shot is immediately shown(!), but if refreshed it's VERY slow to display (if it ever does as I give up waiting after a while!) UPDATE2: Spoke too soon, if a new one is entered, it doesn't get site shot until after it's been edited, then it's quick next time!

Ya, I know for a lot of programs problems don't "generally" happen, but sometimes they do, that's why the general rule has always been to do fresh installs, same for Drivers often even, though with them you can generally get away with it more because they are specifically designed to check everything etc., look for problems before installs etc. Anyway, for me fresh installs are something I almost always do cause I tend to install a lot of programs on the regular, doing this generally prevents problems, prevents bug reports etc. Just been my practice from years of computer troubleshooting. Something can always end up different, like you've now encountered. LOL

Hello @BugSir006, just a comment on the user experience of managing the search engines. For some time now I'm very cautious around the "Restore" link in the top right corner of the search engine list. I'm really not going to test its functionality now since in the past it immediately and without asking erased all my manually predefined engines (tens of them) 😐 Unless this has already been dealt with, could you please consider either removing the "Restore" link altogether (users would still be able to remove the unwanted engines one by one) or add some kind of warning notification when clicking on the Restore link, something like "Do you really want to remove all your custom search engine definitions? Yes/No"? Thanks in advance for looking into this.

You could import the Maxthon 5 Guest account data to MX6.

Suggestion: With "Snap screen" in MX you can only capture visible part. Why not to upgrade "Snap Screen" with scroll function (like in MS EDGE), when you can just hold down mouse button and drag to the bottom of the page (the part you want to screen). Note: This is different from "Snap Page".

If you unluckily lose bookmarks, you can try to restore the bookmarks by using the backup file. 1. Open Maxthon 6 browser. 2. Open the installation path, for example, D:\Users\lenovo\AppData\Local\Maxthon\ 3. Open the folder "User Data" under the folder "Maxthon" 3. Find the account folder you'd like to restore data, such as "Default" 4. Under the folder "Default," you can find and open the folder "Backups" > "BookMarks" 5. Choose a backup file, copy it, then paste it to your account folder, such as "Default" 7. Rename the backup file as "Bookmarks," no file suffix required; delete the previous file "Bookmarks." 8. Restart the browser.

Hello. Thank you for the step-by-step explanation. But let me disagree with one point. I found backups and did exactly as you have scheduled, but the bookmarks still disappeared time after time. Item #1 "close the Maxthon 6 browser" is superfluous and because of it, the instructions will not work! The fact is, after my bookmarks disappeared, they were deleted from the cloud (synchronization). When I restored them from a backup, Maxthon checked at startup which version of bookmarks is more up-to-date, local or cloud, and each time again reset the local bookmarks! But if you restore the bookmark file while running Maxthon, and then restart Maxthon, then the local version is considered more up-to-date and is not erased!
