Hello!
The 2206 known vulnerabilities should be a HUGE worry for everyone running Maxthon!
If the 'competition' are moving to Chromium v154, then so should Maxthon.
If the others include security fixes from beta versions in their stable release, then so should Maxthon.
It simply isn't good enough to say, "We're working on it", if you never release it!
Chromium v140 was discontinued on 30th September 2025... over a YEAR ago!!
So NO security patches, NO bug fixes, NO CVE updates, NO compatibility updates, NO modern web API improvements!
Even if you're down to just ONE developer, they should ignore ALL the pointless tat that no-one asked for or wanted & concentrate solely on updating the kernel ASAP - it's the MOST important issue that simply MUST be done!

This is really intrusive. I was keep on removing "PIU" AI extension and disabling everywhere when it asked if I clicked the X button. But it was keep on installing back and appearing on the right sde of the websites in previous 7.5.3.2400 version

Now, in this version it cannot be even uninstalled from Extensions.

For some reason, during installation, Ai Gateway appears every time. I don't need him!
Now some module with a cat also appears.

Developers, wake up! In your browser, every other time it automatically throws out
The search automatically resets to MaxAsk (although I have never used it and will not)
the text translator constantly gives an error
the associated PDF files are reset to maxthon without my message...

and you continue to tinker and some kind of AI.
Come to a bad end.

Hello!
I never experience most of the issues others report, so I assume either my extensions are preventing or theirs are causing those issues (or they have poor AV like AVG, Avast, McAfee, etc).
However, this "PIU" AI pet (that absolutely NOBODY wanted or asked for!) doesn't work at all as it can't even login:

We would all wish something like this for Maxthon!

I waited until kernel version 148, but decided I didn't want a browser as full of holes as Swiss cheese anymore; that’s why I’ve been using Edge since then—it gets updated every two weeks. The current version is as shown in the photo 🙂

I stopped using Maxthon a while ago. I thought I’d share this here: as someone who had been a Maxthon user since 2005—back in the MX2 days—I held out until the end of 2025. But I realized Maxthon is finished; they’re wasting time on nonsense. Leaving the core engine updates aside, they couldn't even sort out the DRM encryption issue for watching videos. So, I switched to Brave. It’s a great alternative—I don’t miss Maxthon at all. The engine is always up to date, and they even thought to give you the option to toggle DRM encryption on or off. At this point, sticking with Maxthon is just a recipe for regret. They were already done for the moment they started losing loyal users like us.

SEL07 I know. At least they have fixed some extensions reloading and taskbar bugs. Hopefully I can Copy and Paste into Reddit next update?
