What they can do if you allow this:
Rent out your bandwidth: The phrase "use some idle network resources for network sharing" means Maxthon will use your home internet connection to route web traffic for other people or companies.
Your device essentially becomes a node in a residential proxy network or a peer-to-peer (P2P) network.
Run continuous background processes: The browser will run a "background service" that stays active and consumes your computer's RAM and CPU power even when you aren't actively using the browser.
Expose your IP address: Other internet users will be using your IP address to browse the web. If they perform malicious or illegal activities while routed through your connection, those actions could map directly back to your home IP address.
Pay you in closed-loop currency: In exchange for your data, electricity, and bandwidth, they offer "Maxthon Gold," which is a virtual currency used only within their ecosystem to buy premium browser perks (like VIP membership or higher cloud storage tiers)
I had that maxthon gold a very long time ago they took it from me (and i also couldnt buy anything worth anyway...)
But hey this update i just got on "22 september 2026 11:20 A.M." really has me afraid cause now i am scared, I was never afraid of MAXTHON but this update has me thinking... Maybe i am not welcome here cause i also asked a question concerning a bug and i didnt get a response cause i fixed that bug myself maxthon has a "--no-sandbox" start up in their exe. meaning it is not really safe.. so since then i started to get afraid
I have gone back in the days to naked sites on this browser (which i dont do anymore by the way hahaha, addiction is somewhat gone i went maybe 10 or so times this entire year to a naked female picture sight this entire year of 2026 A.D. and it is nearly 2027 so yeah i think i am doing okey compared to back in the days...
But yeah... maxthon was interfiering with my GPU and causing the lag and freezing in the beginning of a video on youtube i did a few things to cause it to be removed 100% i literally never have one freeze EVER anymore since i did what i did
But the fact that i had to do that is because of maxthon itself not because of my GPU and now comes this update just forced on me, i dont really update maxthon maybe once in 2-4 years i dont need updates
I just use browsers for just more security especially after seeing the --no-sandbox thing that they do .. so yeah.. i dont know man.. today 22 september 2026 A.D. is the first time i am worried about using maxthon i always knew you know they know but now? I am really somewhat scared for my privacy and just not having some person use up my RAM and my CPU and my electricity and then offering me useless maxthon currency and then slap the world gold on it as if it is worth anything or diamonds... my eyebrowns are more useful then that gold currency cause at least it stops rain from coming in my eyes, eyebrows are not useless until you have no eyebrows then you will see how hard it is to stop water from entering your eyes (also without eye lashes) you need those also...
But nobody needs maxthon currency and on top of that in exchange for gold currencies..
And what makes me more afraid now for maxthon? Is this message maybe now they will target me for saying this... so now my threat level fear just rose to "8,000"
Cause now they might target me for saying this and hack my browser.. waaaaauw.. i never thought of the day that maxthon would be able to make me afraid of them... wooooow... man.. there is nothing like being afraid to make you just run away from tech people.. you dont know what tech people can do
These computer geniuses are extremely dangerous and can destroy your life at a click of a mouse click..... ooooooh man.. i guess i know what i need to do now... I wonder if they can see if i am online using their browser or not... wow this is spooky ... can they spy on me? I have not been looking at nude women this entire year now nearly flawlessly but i did make purchases... often i use opera to make purchases but maxthon i used A LOT..
