Hello,
This issue persists on current browser versions (since v.7.5.2.2800) and appears to be caused by specific corrupted cloud profile data that cannot be refreshed or overwritten, either automatically or manually, while other profile data syncs normally.
Summary / Core Problem
After account login, Maxthon Cloud Sync applies certain cloud data after a delay (typically 3–5 minutes). When this delayed cloud data is applied, multiple browser features break.
All affected features work correctly without login or before the delayed cloud data is applied.
Affected Functionality
• Google Voice Search on google.com stops working
• Amazon drop-off location popup shows an empty / non-functional map
• UI theme state becomes inconsistent (visually applied theme does not match the selected theme)
Key Findings
• Cloud data is applied asynchronously some time after login
• Manual Sync completes unrealistically fast (1 second), suggesting little or no re-upload of certain data
• Some profile data syncs correctly in both directions (e.g. bookmarks, extensions, general settings)
• Other cloud-stored state remains stale or corrupted and repeatedly reapplies itself
• Reproducible with fresh UserData folders and fresh logins
• Not related to extensions or local configuration
Selective Sync Clarification
Some profile components (such as bookmarks, extensions, Passkeeper, Quick Access, and general settings) appear to sync normally between local and cloud.
Passkeeper and Quick Access sync behavior was not explicitly observed or verified during testing; therefore, their correct or incorrect sync state cannot be conclusively determined.
However, certain cloud-stored state (likely theme/UI or related profile data) cannot be overwritten by local resets or Manual Sync operations and consistently returns, triggering the breakage.
Expected Behaviour
• All cloud profile data should be refreshable or overwritable from a clean local state
• No cloud data should be applied when sync is disabled or without explicit user action
• Applied UI theme should match the selected theme in Appearance
• Amazon drop-off location popup should display a functional map
• Google Voice Search should remain functional after sync
Actual Behaviour
• Certain cloud data is applied after login with a delay, even when sync is disabled
• Some profile data syncs correctly, while specific corrupted cloud data persists
• Persisting cloud data causes UI theme inconsistency
• Amazon drop-off location popup displays an empty map
• Google Voice Search breaks immediately after delayed cloud data is applied
Conclusion
Cloud Sync appears partially functional: some profile data syncs normally, while specific corrupted cloud state cannot be refreshed or overwritten and is reapplied after login. This selective restoration of broken cloud data results in UI inconsistencies and site feature failures.
Hope this helps narrow the issue down.
Thank you
