This version significantly strengthens browser security in addition to fixing various reported problems. The new sandbox module can effectively protect against the recently revealed 0day vulnerability in IE (KB979352). some notes:
-the facebook sidebar is still installed without any confirmation
-maxthon has a '?' symbol in the address bar for maxthon forum website.on other versions of maxthon , it either wrote 'safe' or 'genuine' for the maxthon forum.
-thumbnail of http://www.ynet.co.il/ cannot be created in the quick-access feature .
-the test website doesn't do anything on IE8:

it just opens a new tab which is some kind of error ("We were unable to return you to maxthon.com." ), and IE itself doesn't crash or opens the calculator (?!) as stated at the website . maxthon2 only shows a red rectangle for it.maxthon3 only shows a blank tab on ultra mode yet on retro mode it claims that it crashed.
-you should have written that going to privacy mode is achieved via the privacy button, which looks like an eye and a lock .
-the lifehacker website is shown differently on the upper side of the website, than it is shown on IE , even when the ad-hunter (and the fileers) is disabled . how come? here's a screenshot.

Not confirmed: here it shows "safe" for all Maxthon's sites, but uknown with a ? for all other sites I visited, either google...

These two are both confirmed

Note: if you go on private mode, and press the skins button it shows [skins] is it intended to be this way, or...what? I would put something like "No skin available while in private mode", or something else...

- IE8 goes into a loop of crashes at crash test page after recovering the first tab

Shows fine for me. I do however recognize the layout you see...

I am suspecting you have MoreScripts activated and are using the Gawker stylesheet mod for Lifehacker/Gizmo (plz disable everything before posting a problem, this is not a problem but just bad memory)

the test page opens a new tab to launch the demo exploit test. Then it shows a  dialog for me bottom right, no crashes, no errors, only dialog doesn't want to close


Weird thing is when I logged of to get the dialog closed, I got this one

and if anyone is seeing something other than "Genuine" on the maxthon site, check your install, you're not using the included English language file...

For the test page: on Maxthon2 it gives me a javascript error. With previous version of M2 MSE give me an error.
In internet explorer 8, with MSE disable, it opens a popup, show a crash message, and on the same popup after close the crash message (Windows 7) on the same popup it write up "Internet Explorer has closed this webpage to help protect your computer".

For the lifehacker site, I see too the crappy layout, and have no MoreScripts installed

It is not a crappy layout it is a cleaned layout, and it does not have to be a MoreOptions script, the same mod also floats around as text filter. In any case, its a filtered view just like in the Chrome screenshot in the screenshot...use SafeMode to verify

Well... ok...thi is almost funny...
In safe mode the layout is good... In normal mode... no... And I have no TextFilters other than that of CompatibilityView plugin installed.. I try to disable all the plugins, and all the adhunter options, restart M2, and still the "filtered layout"... Any idea?

About this...it works now   Tryed before, and the preview goes on loading...either after a reboot of M2, but try again now, and it load anything...
Maybe some site related problems before...

This second popup showed for me a minute after the two in the previous post showed. The test could no longer be run without first cleaning cookies in Internet Options. Cleaning cookies in M2 was not enough.
I did click Clean Computer on Microsoft Security Essentials popup

I've not yet seen the second dialog, and for me the one in my previous post showed again when visiting the test page without clearing cookies or anything...this time I could close it but when closing the test tab Maxthon2 just silently CTD'ed

A note: it was happening also in version 2.5.11... The Windows 7 tab previews in super bar does not respect the order of the tab in maxthon... I you open some tab A, B and C, rhen rearrenge it, like B A C, the previews are still shown as A B C...

ok, i've read what you guys written, and i have the next new notes:
-i'm using windows xp sp3 home edition 32bit,IE8.0.6001.18702 ,maxthon 2.5.12.4200 ,zonealarm firewall free 9.1.007.002 ,avira antivirus free 9.0.0.418.
-IE8 and maxthon2-safe mode can show lifehacker fine. maxthon2 without any text filters, plugins etc. cannot .
-IE8 safe mode(no addons) and normal mode doesn't have any apparent problem with the security test website (if you expect crashing or opening the calculator) . it just opens a tab/window which its content isn't shown because of an error .
-whatever i do , the ynet.co.il website cannot be shown in the thumbnails. i've tried deleting it, deleting the temp-files,refreshing, restarting maxthon,... it also seems that the safe mode of maxthon cannot even show the quickaccess feature at all.
-the '?' icon for maxthon forum (and maxthon website) is shown on maxthon, even on safe mode.
-about the facebook plugin, it installed and enabled it. maybe it was disabled for people who had it before and disabled it.
-about "There is no space between icon and text in search engine." , so? you get more space to write this way, and you can still read it very clearly.

about a clean installation of maxthon:
-i get a "genuine" for the maxthon forum and website.
-still can't get the thumbnail of ynet.co.il
-compressed(cleaned?!) layout (as before) on lifehacker.com .
-facebook sidebar installs and is enabled.
-i got a "set as default browser?" confirmation window even though i chose not to set it as default browser in the installation. i expected not to see such a thing
-seems that the hebrew translation wasn't updated for a long time.i don't use it since i like english in my programs,but still...
-the security test seems to work fine there too.

i guess i can sum it up by saying that i can't wait for maxthon3 to be as mature as maxthon2 ... go maxthon3 !!!

I have problems with lifehacker for a longer time 2.5.x .

I have placed it in the whitelist but most of the times images aren't shown and a refresh of the page locks-up Maxthon.
I also have the problem top left in this beta release (addhunter off)
