Look, it’s pics about Maxthon 3.0 !

Dear Maxthon users, here comes the first official news about the upcoming major version of Maxthon 3.0.

As some enthusiastic users posted about Maxthon 3.0 and wonder what Maxthon dev team is doing these days, they finally showed their face again after a long period of “occultation”. The Dev team wants to thank you all and they’re so glad to tell you that Maxthon 3.0 is coming, and REALLY soon. (But this doesn’t mean that Maxthon 2 will be abandoned, more features will be added to it.)

An “internal version” (Maxthon 3.0 Alpha) is released to the internal testing team. Public beta testing will be made when ready and please be patient at the moment. As you know, the Maxthon dev team always values “User Experience” above everything.

And thanks to the Maxthon dev team, here are some Maxthon 3.0 pictures never released to the public before:

As some of you may have read, Maxthon 3.0 will support dual browser engines. A fast and highly standard compliant engine will be working along with the good old Trident (IE). So Maxthon 3.0 will offer both “Turbo” and “Compatible” experience in one. Under the “Turbo Mode” users will enjoy the fastest browsing speed and state of the art website designs. For websites designed for older browsers, the “Compatible Mode” will be standing by a click away.

Generally, the Turbo Mode of Maxthon 3.0 shall work better than the Compatible Mode as of now. Yet there are still a lot of rooms for improvements in the future.

That’s all I want to say about for now. So sleep tight and stay tuned, as you could have seen Maxthon 3.0 one day when you wake up.

And Maxthon dev team wish you a happy fools day!

100/100?

Aside from picking the worst date for such an announcement as your pics can be taken as photoshopped, the design looks very clean. Can't wait to give 3 a try.

when will it be released to the "external" testing team?

I congratulate the next arrival of the Maxthon 3.
I want the Maxthon 3  has Tile and Cascade such as Maxthon Classic. The absence of these resources have forced me to leave the M2 and choose the MaxthonClassic and Opera.

Quite foolish.
100/100 on acid test means that the second engine is webkit ? (form me the best)

In other words with maxthon 3:
- You have a standard (turbo) mode even you don't have IE8
- You have a more standard compliant standard mode (100 in acid test 3)
- You have a faster standard mode (javascript nearly 30 times faster than IE7)
- You have a more secure standard mode (immune to all IE engine issues)
...

Happy fools day
Anyway looks great, I hope to see another rendering engine (and since I heard this rumor before I guess this part is true).

BTW, is there a reason Maxthon's chrome looks like Google Chrome?
Thanks for the tease! I can't wait!
I do hope that the giant Maxthon icon in the top left corner will be shrinkable to a normal app icon. And what is the little dot in the corner of the icon doing there?
