But shouldn't we let the page known that we use IE8 or Maxthon2 or whatever default setting was? Like that page could be optimized somehow if it see that we use IE8 instead of Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1)?
I have the feeling that it's not faster anymore as it was right after IE8 installation..
EDIT: I've fully reinstalled IE8 and that problem is still there by default. Changing string to MSIE 7.0 helps with Gmail problem but I can't avoid the feeling that javascript browsing was faster before I turned on/off that bloody experimental feature -> changed the string to Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1).
