Problem:

Once com_global type sidebar plugins ,eg My Computer and Wap SideBar are opened in the sidebar, maxthon will no longer be able to open new tab. 100% cpu and/or freeze will result.

Well, after 1 minute, it's still working.  LOL  Just kidding.  I know there won't be any problems on my end.  I trust blindly the Dev Team.

is the windows frame issue been resolved in this beta release ?
1. Selected "Open Changelog" at the end of the installation, but no logs opened

2. When you scroll down a page in MSC and select another page that is longer then screen height (like Advanced), second page is displayed scrolled down..  (To duplicate the problem; Go to Maxthon Setup Center > General, scroll down the page, go to Advanced and you'll see Advanced page is scrolled down)

3. When switching between skins, Maxthon loses focus..

Seems like cause of the problem #3 is MoreOptions2-1.3.5.1

Cannot duplicate #2 on a 24" monitor with 1920 x 1200 resolution.  Switched 6 different skins and Maxthon did not lose focus.  Didn't even try to open the ChangLog, so don't know about that one.

2. Odd you should mention this as this is one of the first that doesn't do it in my case. Going from general to advanced, the advanced page is where it was scrolled to last Edit If I go between various sized pages, scroll bar returns to the top when returning to advanced or general
3. No problem switching skins with no plugins installed.

Let's try it again;

Go to MSC > General, scroll down the page till end
Go to MSC > Advanced, you'll see that page is scrolled almost to the end.. Scroll it to the top..
Go to MSC > General again.. You should see that General is scrolled to top..

FYI, plugins I use:
EnableRightClick = 1.7.6
MaxFeedReader = 1.1.0
FLPSCheck = 1.0.9

Ok, now I see what you mean.  I only have 2 pages that have scroll bars and if I scroll to the bottom of one and click on the other, the second page is also scrolled to the bottom.  For my situation it really doesn't matter because of my large screen I only lose maybe one line, but for others with smaller screens, it could be a problem.  I have More Options 2.1.3.4 installed.  When was it updated?  Never mind, just found it.  LOL

Just installed MoreOptions2.1.3.5 and changing skins doesn't make Maxthon lose focus.  Works the same as previous version of MoreOptions2.  Only other plug-in I have installed is Memory Manager.

As I already mentioned, the scrollbar is indeed now completely on-screen.

The overlap of the right edge is however still very much there...

for me, maxthon still has some problems with the freeze tests that were published a long time ago - suppose you run a test on tab #1 , then you (quickly) open/switch to tab #2 , and then you go back to tab #1 to see if it was frozen. in such a case, maxthon itself freezes instead of just the tab.

Reply 16# UFO's post

Just ran those tests and didn't have any problem at all.

Copy to clipboard
Code:
onclick="window.close();
is not now broken with this release. (edit - seems to have started working...although I did play around with the "Show pop-up windows as tabbed page" settings)

...and the popup window problem from 2.5.1 (where a popup window was supposed to close but would not without manual intervention) is still broken.

Password Manager

When I use an external password manager (e.g. KeePass) there is no focus on the frame of maxthon so that autotype didn't work. Programm with autotype didn't find maxthon, I think this problem is a part of the changes of the window frame.
I will not use the internal passwordmanager (there are no informations about how it works) because I need the manager also in other programs.

I second that question!
