LogMeIn Full Screen

I cannot get the full scren to display when using LogMeIn.  Works fine when using IE7.  This first appared in v2.5.x.  Is there a setting I ned to change in Maxthon?
For what it's worth, this is a known issue with the window frame display in the 2.5.x versions.

Hopefully it'll get resolved as the dev team continues looking into it ... .

Maxthon 2.5.6.349 (Beta) runs LogMeIn in full-screen mode, though there are still some quirks and unresolved issues.

I'm unable to interact with a remote PC in LogMeIn's standard "in-window" mode.  The remote desktop appears in grayscale, and I can't interact with it at all (no clicks, no keyboard captures).  When I switch to Full Screen Mode, the remote desktop display switches to color and expands to fill the available tab.  As soon as I click on the remote computer's desktop (or interact with it in any way), I enter LMI's full-screen mode, where I can work with no problems.  On exiting full-screen mode, the remote desktop switches back to black-and-white and can no longer be clicked into.

Also interesting: If I detach the tab where LogMeIn is running, I can't interact at all.  (I can't even switch to full-screen mode; all I get is a momentary flicker, and then I'm kicked back to in-window mode with the black-and-white remote desktop displayed.)

For what it's worth, this is workable enough for me to make 2.5.6.349 my default browser.    Hopefully future releases will be even more compatible with LogMeIn and other remote computing service sites ... !

focus problem exhibited on logmein.com

when using logmein.com to remotely control another computer, the remote desktop view goes greyscale when you transfer focus to another window on your own desktop (i.e. your remote control session is idle), and is restored to full colour when you click back in the remote desktop window

well, not on maxthon. the remote desktop goes greyscale very quickly, then remains grey. it then becomes impossible to remotely control the target system as a result. this problem is not exhibited in IE or firefox, and they all use the same java code (firefox has an optional add-on as well, but works just as well with the standard java plugin). it would appear to be the fault of maxthon not controlling focus correctly.
which Java VM have you selected in Maxthon2?
microsoft java virtual machine

Reply 3# Statick's post

well, unless you've got an old Visual Studio 6 installed, then better select the other one as I assume you have Sun Java installed.

MS's JavaVM has long since been discontinued and is no longer developed/maintained. For several reasons the option must however remain available...
oh! why is it selected as a default then? i've never changed that setting.
well, i've selected "other java virtual machine" and the problem remains. when i tested this time, the remote desktop view was greyscale from the moment it connected. again, this works fine in IE and firefox (and along with the other problems i have with maxthon, i'm getting more and more used to having both M2 and FF open at the same time...)
Hmm.. Not having any personal experience I can only point you to a topic where someone who does use it, has given a tip which may be of use to you in this situation too

Hi, Statick —

For what it's worth, you've nailed it — Maxthon's focus issues seem to be at the root of the issues with LogMeIn.  LMI worked smoothly in earlier version, but Maxthon 2.5.x introduced a new framework for dealing with web pages, eliminating the Windows window frame, and introducing some focus bugs that have yet to be ironed out.

LogMeIn is unusable on the earliest versions of Maxthon 2.5.x (2.5.0.x), but in the latest versions, you can use it pretty well, as long as you're willing to switch to LMI's Full-Screen Mode and give up on Standard Mode (viewing the remote PC in-tab).  On first switching to LogMeIn's Full Screen Mode, you'll see a portion of the remote PC's screen in your tab — like looking through a window.  Click on the remote PC screen, and Maxthon will stop displaying its own interface, switching you to honest-to-goodness Full Screen Mode for LogMeIn.  When you're done, scroll to the center top of the screen for the LogMeIn controls and use the Restore icon to return to (non-interacting) Standard Mode.

It's not the best workaround — but it does make LogMeIn at least useable without having to switch to another browser.
