Thank you, works perfect now with IE8 beta2.

Is it possible to use the new rendering engine?
The Acid3 test looks better in IE8, it's like M2 uses the Compatibility View-mode now (Emulate IE7, in IE8 beta1).

Thanks.

Great release, seems to be working well with IE8b2! Thanx UFO for pointing me to beta2 download, I couldn't find it for the life of me!

Is the Setup Center cookie issue fixed in this one?

No IE8 rendering mode? Just curious.
No IE7 rendering. It appears to be using IE8 by default

Indeed, thanks for a great release fixing the crashes. But we want to pass the acid test !

I think it might be using the IE7 rendering mode. If it were using IE8, it *should* pass the Acid 2 test.
Maxthon is finally back on track with this release. It seems to fix the new tab/freeze/crash issue that I was having, even with multi-threading on.

Memory usage seems better, too.
Firefox 3, 1 tab open (google.com): 60MB
Maxthon2, 6 tabs open (last.fm, facebook.com, gmail.com, myspace.com, maxthon forum [duh], drupal.org): 50MB!

From post #1:
Changelog

Earlier versions weren't working beta2, but your right, very similar to IE7 rendering:

P.S. IE8beta2 fixes rendering problems of google maps in M2.1.4.238 and M1.6.4.20
(although I don't know why decreasing zoom factor increases size of the map)

Really? So I finally can upgrade!
Still waiting for the final though.

Good job if it does
i think maxthon still works faster than IE when using IE8beta2 .
however, as people wrote here, it doesn't use the new IE8 engine, at least not enough to make it pass the ACID2 test like IE8beta2 does. maybe it's a good thing, since i would like to be able to choose which websites should use the IE7 engine and which will use the IE8beta2 engine.
EDIT: can anyone confirm that lifehacker.com website cannot be zoomed in anymore using this version with IE8beta2 ?

Indeed. It moves left and right only.

The Setup Center cookie problem is still there.

Maybe there can be an option to make Setup Center not remember the last active page and disable the making of the cookie?

I think its because that the cookie has a "~~local~~" domain that it's permission is not saved and the prompt keep appearing. (special character ~)
