From beta to final in less than 24 hours.

Hey, the .exe isn’t in a zip archive anymore. Yay!
please, for the next time that the installer installs new plugins, skins and text filters, make it an optional (and unmarked) during the installation, so that the user can choose if he wants to use it or not.

other than that, thanks.

Has this release been pulled? The download page shows a Chinese 404 error

johnnylegend, i didn't mean a zipped version. i meant the official installer, plus you didn't write anything about the other plugins that are inside your version (like the facebook plugin).
don't get me wrong- i think it's a good thing what you did there.

The user does have that choice...at least..I got asked on install if I wanted to add the Facebook plugin   (this choice has been there since the day the plugin got added), and I can choose to not use it or remove it...

as to whether these options should be checked or unchecked...come'on...every software installer will always have all the options enabled by default if it has choices, it's not like its that big a deal to select which options you want or not...it's only the one friggin plugin...and the skin isn't even selected by default if you do a fresh install...

About the skin and the medal plugin, you should know better than to expect a Chinese product to offer a choice to NOT promote the biggest, most prestigious happening of this century... no way they are going to let this go by unnoticed. And I cannot blame them one bit... no matter what else, they achieved something to be proud of, even if we don't all agree with the politics.

Next Time? I know what you meant, but next time the olympics will be held someplace else, so there's not much chance of there being a promotional plugin by that time

PS. Maxthon Team? These skins could do with an English name in the skin selector...

PPS. UFO? I do agree with you though, but that would then be more regarding the add-on modules. I don't care much for the screengraber, the downloader, the guardian and the booster, since I have other tools for this which are not browser dependant, and leaving them in causes conflicts when they accidentally get activated, so I would like to have the option to not install them. Upto now I just killed what I didn't wanted, but it would be nicer to have the choice to disable/enable them during install (like in IEPro)

The results of extracting that version are the same as using the installer with the exception of the missing plugins and skins. Same goes for all of the other content, you can extract either one file or everything which you cannot when using the installer.

I still got problems with radio buttons and checkboxes in Joomla    Ive posted this 3 or 4 times and still its not fixed.

Homepage

Is it me or is the maxthon.com homepage not detecting the current version properly?  I get this error:

Line:13
Char:2
Code:0
Error:Expected '}'
URL:http://www.maxthon.com/

I am also hanging when trying to download this update at 4.7~ MB.  The other web sites don't have 2.1.3 listed yet, and download.com navigates to the 1.6.3 version.

Oh, I don't think so, the positions are just fine.

But, you need to get some faster servers.  This is my speed as of this morning:

This is my speed when downloading Maxthon:

Just a little bit slower, don't you think?  LOL  And that's the fastest the download ever got.  After I did that screenshot, it started dropping.

Anyway, thanks for the new release and I like the new skins too.

you got me wrong. the facebook plugin was an example.i remember that in the first time the installer didn't ask about it too.only after i wrote about it ,it was added . it's an example just like the medal plugin is an example. plugins and skins should not be installed without the user knowing of that and he should be able to disable and/or remove them even before the installation ends.
the installer should remember the last configuration that the user has chosen just like other program installations, so that he won't be bothered for each installation with the same questions , reading all of them , and setting all of them again and again.installation of a new version should only update to the new version, and the user can be safely know that every configuration he had before wasn't changed since the last installation(example: for a long time the installer added the default values of the mouse gestures and the shortcuts keys) .another example is the quick launch link and the desktop link.if the developers want to suggest installing new skins and plugins, they can publish them on the download website. they can even put them in the installer, but uncheck them by default so that the user won't be surprised with different plugins/skins/behaviors than what he had before. when i install a new version, i expect the installer to do all those things, just like other installers have.about the number of clicks, what could happen in the future if the developers want to offer you more than that, 10 plugins, for example?
i also don't think you understood that when i wrote "next time", i meant for the next installation of maxthon.
about modules, yes, that's a really nice idea.

It strongly depends on when you download. I had an average of 220KB/s (of my 320KB/s line) so that was very acceptable. If you don't want a slow download, either wait or grab the installer from a mirror like Filehippo which is always fast.

Well, I downloaded at about 6:30 Central time, so you are probably right, there's a lot more traffic at that hour.  It's no big deal though, I just thought it was funny to do a speed test and get great results and then download and get dial-up speeds.  LOL  Unfortunately, most people who are on broadband don't understand that your download speed will only depend on the server you are downloading from.

Oh, and will Filehippo always have the very latest versions?

Thanks.

What possible harm can adding a skin or two in the installer make? If you don't like them, just don't use them. This is one more thing that the Maxthon team does over and above "the call of duty" and I aplaud them for it! It's the little things in Maxthon that distinguish it from those other browsers. A few people complained about the Xmas or Chinese New Year skins, but overall people loved them! I certainly did.
The Olympics happens even less often, and to occur in your country, even rarer. Once or twice in your lifetime perhaps?
Thanx for another great version and some really nice skins dev team. They'll be adorning my M2 for the next few weeks anyway!

Exactly.  I really appreciate all the effort the developers have put into Maxthon to make it the best browser around, period.  And if they want to add some embellishment, such as skins, that's wonderful and I'll use them and change them every day.
