Overall a good release. The loading of websites is more fluid and slightly faster although when starting Maxthon it now takes about five seconds before the home page loads. The page stays white when suddenly the whole website appears.

The removal of the Plugin Bar does currently not make any sense to me. I never use the Web Tool bar but need a few plugin buttons to be visible at all times. So I had to drag the plugin buttons back, into the Search Bar. While this gives me the same appearance like 2.0.9 had, disabling single buttons isn't that easy anymore. The Add or Remove Buttons menu is grayed where the plugin buttons are listed so that means to "hide" them I need to drag them back to the Web tool bar.

It is not fixed but broken for non English users. In this version we can't use right ALT key to type national characters.
ie for Polish we use right Alt + l, right Alt+a, right Alt+o, right Alt+z, right Alt+x, right Alt+s, right Alt+c, right Alt+n
and it is impossible to use it in this version of Maxthon.
Please remove with this "fix"

I agree with these.. Web toolbar is an optional feature as plugin bar, and I don't want to loose 20 or some pixels vertically when viewing all pages with Web toolbar open.. I want my old dockeable Plugin Bar back without going into customizing toolbar buttons (:

Yep, plugins bar is a must!

Don't notice slowdown in startpage though.

Yes, I dont think removing the plugin toolbar is a good idea, if you make a poll asking how many users actually use the Web Toolbar you will see what we are talking about.
In my case, if future versions of Maxthon are goin to be like that, then I will not update my version.

Please, reconsider your desicion.

You can build a new Toolbar, instead to drag them to the Search bar.
So you can hide all them at once, from View > Toolbars menu, if needed.
And dragging them to the new bar press CTRL, to copy the buttons.
Then will be possible show/hide the duplicates in the web bar using the right click menu.

In this way seem working fine here
How to kill  Web Toolbar ? I can't disable it

The same "wrench" button toggles the webtools bar on/off.

If you miss (like me ) the old 'close' button there, in customize mode
make a copy of the wrench button on the webtools bar (drag it pressing the CTRL key)

Totally forgot about that feature, now created a new bar named "Plugin Bar".

That still won't allow me to hide single buttons:

Hmm...where wrench button here?

Please use better compression, or smaller image size, or use an image host like ImageShack. <50 KB please. (former posting rules will be back up soon) Thank you for understanding. ~JarC

Yes, I dont think removing the plugin toolbar is a good idea, if you make a poll asking how many users actually use the Web Toolbar you will see what we are talking about.

While I'm a big fan of the Web Toolbar, I think that fact that it gets little discussion and seems to go unused by many Maxthon users is probably what inspired the developers to move the Plugins buttons onto it.

I haven't upgraded yet (will this afternoon, after I get some work behind me), but I can see some advantages.  Remember that you can hide the Web Toolbar with the mouse (by clicking the wrench) or with the keyboard (CTRL+B), so it gives you easy access to plugins without having them on your GUI all the time.

On the other hand, the Plugins Bar had enough unique features (like the "Addition" button or "Add/Remove Buttons" menu) that it was more than "just a standard toolbar with plugin buttons."  I don't know that I want those features cluttering up the Web Toolbar — but I'll have to give it a try and see how it looks/works/feels.

You know what would be really cool, though?  The ability to choose which toolbar is displayed in the Web Toolbar spot!  Imagine an option in Maxthon Setup Center that would allow you to display the buttons and functions from any of your other toolbars as the Web Toolbar, just by picking one from a drop-down menu and saving.

Same for me. I never use the web or side bars but need the plugin bar visible for many occsions where you need to, for instance, eliminate floating ads or use the mouse left button fast.

My vote is for the plugin bar visible and the fastest opening and running possible, which is the main reason why I use Maxthon (speed in everything) meaning I'm not updating by now either.

Greetings and congratulations for this superb browser.
Instead of arguing if it's better to have the plugin bar or not. Why don't we have both then we have the choice between showing or hiding the plugin bar like we could do before and no need to create a new toolbar.

Why they removed it ? I don't get it at all.

if this is about opening the menu using the ALT combinations, then i can confirm- it doesn't work on my computer for all of the menus. for example it doesn't work for ALT+a (Favorites) .for some of them , it sometimes works.

Are you listen to users *******?!

-they surely listen to users. i think there are just too many bugs that were reported , so it's better to fix them instead of adding more features (that might have their own bugs).there must be versions from time to time that just fix problems.
