There are significant changes in this first update after the Chinese New Year. The major changes include the redesigned Page Search dialog, improved Popup Blocker with blacklist support, and enhancements to Maxthon Downloader.

Find in Page Dialog
The new Find in Page shows the matches found, can move to next match with "+", or to the previous match with "-". User can also move to any match directly by clicking the extended dialog which shows all matches found.

Popup Blocker
Popup Blocker is significantly improved in this version. Since popup blocker became popular with XP SP2, advertisers now often open popups when a link or button is clicked to trick popup blockers that the popups are requested by user. In this version, user can add such popups to the popup blacklist by right click the tab and select "send to". The popup blacklist (and whitelist) can be edited in Tools > Maxthon Setup Center > Ad Hunter

Maxthon Downloader
The Maxthon Downloader introduced in the last version has been further enhanced. Now user can drag multiple links and drop to download. A status bar button has also been added to open the Maxthon Downloader tab and show the download status. To show this button, right click the status bar, select "Add or Remove Buttons", and select "Maxthon Downloader..."

Other Improvements and Fixes
Besides the above major changes, many features have also been fine tuned. e.g. Maxthon Guardian, Online Favorites, Maxthon Website Booster no longer require restart to effect. There is also change to Advanced Proxy so that changes will effect immediately. If any problem is encountered with proxy, please delete the ProxyConfig.xml inside your user profile or the SharedAccount (typical location is: C:\Program Files\Maxthon2\user@mail.com\Config\ProxyConfig.xml)

Thanks for the new version. Is there a simple way of importing the settings from the previous version 2.0.8? I mean not only favourites and plugins, but also the configuration settings? (I seem to remember that when updating Maxthon 1.x these were imported automatically.)

NEW BUG (since 2.0.9 Beta, still in Final):

New tab is activated if you click on a link with the middle mouse button even if set to open in background.


NOT FIXED (but stated as fixed in changelog):

Enhanced page context menu don't work if you have multi-thread Tab Support enabled.


CHANGE (was that intended?)

Check for Updates don't check for updates of skins and plugins anymore.

Do you mean the menu style? Yes it is not fixed.

What works refers to the option that user can use enhanced context menu (with maxthon commands) or standard ie context menu.

Waiting for it to be on "Check for updates".

Anyway the new feature for the "Find in page" is something that I wanted.

But I still feel that Maxthon is still behind IE7Pro in some parts.
And it doesn't feel and work as robust as Firefox yet.
Don't really like the anything also in tabs way in M2.
But I'll still stick with M2.

Will post agin after I try it out.

You cannot turn off maxthon enhanced context menu in previous versions. But you can now

on the last beta version (2.0.9.1632) , the problem i had of saving mouse gestures configurations was gone. now (on 2.0.9.1640) it came back - i cannot save mouse gestures configurations .   i try to delete some of the default mouse gestures, click apply. then i close the options tab and re-open it, and they are still there (and also work ) .
does anyone know how to fix it?

This time I can confirm ufo, deleted close(down right) reapppears after being deleted. I made sure to apply after deleting!

Edit: Other changes I made are being saved though, i.e., click left/right, click right/left, gestures right left and left right are all fine

-really? was it a "clean" install or a "dirty" install?
what about the other default mouse gestures, like "Switch to Previous Tab ", "Switch to Next Tab"  and "Close Tab " ? are they staying for you too?
i also wonder why the mouse gestures of "Double Click on Page" and "Middle Click Tab" are always there.

weird behavior found(or maybe it's a bug?) : when i tried to mark the text of the mouse gestures to copy them and paste here, maxthon wrote in the upper side "Settings are saved." although i didn't change anything, and it also opened the options of the marked mouse gesture and unmarked it (so i had to mark it again after it was the currently selected mouse gesture) .sometimes when i tried marking the text again, super-drag&drop opened a new search tab of the unmarked text .
in fact, now that i play with the settings of the mouse gestures, i can see that each time i go to another mouse gesture, maxthon will save the settings although i didn't change anything.

well i used the dirty method, so it covers from both sides.
by writing "(next/previous were saved)" , you mean you did try to delete them or not?
