Maxthon 2.0.9 beta released

There are significant changes in this first update after the Chinese New Year. The major changes include the redesigned Page Search dialog, improved Popup Blocker with blacklist support, and enhancements to Maxthon Downloader.

Find in Page Dialog
The new Find in Page shows the matches found, can move to next match with "+", or to the previous match with "-". User can also move to any match directly by clicking the extended dialog which shows all matches found.

Popup Blocker
Popup Blocker is significantly improved in this version. Since popup blocker became popular with XP SP2, advertisers now often open popups when a link or button is clicked to trick popup blockers that the popups are requested by user. In this version, user can add such popups to the popup blacklist by right click the tab and select "send to". The popup blacklist (and whitelist) can be edited in Tools > Maxthon Setup Center > Ad Hunter

Maxthon Downloader
The Maxthon Downloader introduced in the last version has been further enhanced. Now user can drag multiple links and drop to download. A status bar button has also been added to open the Maxthon Downloader tab and show the download status. To show this button, right click the status bar, select "Add or Remove Buttons", and select "Maxthon Downloader..."

Other Improvements and Fixes
Besides the above major changes, many features have also been fine tuned. e.g. Maxthon Guardian, Online Favorites, Maxthon Website Booster no longer require restart to effect. There is also change to Advanced Proxy so that changes will effect immediately. If any problem is encountered with proxy, please delete the ProxyConfig.xml inside your user profile or the SharedAccount (typical location is: C:\Program Files\Maxthon2\user@mail.com\Config\ProxyConfig.xml)

You have to enable in MSC->Mouse Control->Drag&Drop to Open All Links in Text Selection

Am I the only one that thinks the translation for item 33337 and 33342 are making the rick-click menu way too big?

There are some reports in 'Language and mispellings bugs' that seems to be overlooked by Developers.

- This one is quite important, since as is it does make a completely wrong sense:

Modules are available in SAFE MODE  > Modules are NOT available in SAFE MODE

Yeah you're right, it should be changed.

Just noticed the new find-in-page as well, i liked the old version that could be docked to the bottom/top of the browser. Although the features are nice, i'd like to see an option to dock it somehow.

When are they going to fix "Open feed items in a new tab"?  Checked or unchecked, it's completely igored and all feed items are opened in a new tab.

I just checked the Popup blocker on Megaupload.com where always a new window opens when you click the "Download" button. This is true for this version as well. A popup redirecting to Partypoker.com will be opened.


What is considered a "suspicious popup"?

-Find in page - gaah seriously just get Easyfinder working this isn't much of an improvement at all, and having a different find dialog open up for each tab? wt-h is this? M2 gone backwards(dont' answer I can see myself where M2 is going), you can't even switch tab without the find dialog stealing focus and popping up again..

the list of fixes and improvements in this version just seem a bit bland as many as they are... I'm still waiting for M2 thats worth using whats happened to Maxthon! i won't even bother mentioning stuff that still has yet to be improved/added, but you coudl at least sort out Login problems, which makes M2 even less desirable to use if it can't fetch my bookmakrs etc away from home might aswel just use FF in that case.

And will TinyFind2 be better than Easyfinder? I don't see it, first of all you need the shortcuts working.. ie. ctrl+f to replace M2 eeurhg then you need to make sure only 1 dialog is opened, and used for all tabs! and then just visual aesthetics it would be better if it had opacity setting,that allows you to set the opacity of the dialog to say 60% and only have it fully visibly on when the mouse is over the dialog , thus allowing you to still see the page contents, while using mousewheel to go through words without the dialog getting the way!.. anything else silly like opacity settings that only take effect when the dialog is over a searched word- well just not good really..
- the background color should be hilited(blinking) not the text on each word much more visible when you got a lot of hilites on  page
- option button visible, not hidden the moment you make a search, only for the user to have clear it again to get back to the option button to make changes.

quite basically everything I've listed and could carry on listing has been done right in Easyfinder and if it can't be replicated then it just won't ever be as good..

TinyFind2 is not an EasyFinder replica, or anything made to your specifications. And please note that this is not TinyFind2 thread.

Bug found:

If you click a link with the middle mouse button the new tab will be activated even if "Activate New Tab after open" --> "Middle Mouse Button Click" isn't selected.
