Maxthon 2.0.7 Released

Thanks to the development team and our users, Maxthon 2.0.7 New Year Edition is released before the New Year. We wish our users the best browsing experience in the New Year. This update has introduced many new useful features, like sending the current page or current page URL by email. Yet the most significant change is the improvements in performance. This version has a lot of optimization in page loading, which will be especially noticeable for users with less powerful computer and/or slower Internet connection. In addition, this version also included the highly requested multi-dictionaries support for the spell check function. Users can download the appropriate dictionaries for various languages. Please note that after installation of this update (by overwriting the existing installation), the browser menu has to be reset in order to use some of the new features. For resetting the browser menu, please right click the Menu bar, click "Customize...", go to the "Toolbars" tab, highlight "Menu Bar" and click the "Reset" button. For a complete changelog please refer to the appendix. You can download here: http://www.maxthon.com Appendix – 2.0.7 changelog * improved web page loading and browsing performance + option to not opening any page on startup + send current page/page URL by email(reset menu bar is required) + option to auto hide toolbars(reset menu bar is required) + option to reset Internet Explorer as default browser + new feature Maxthon Website Booster (Beta Version) * updated spell check and added multi-dictionaries support * added option to turn on/off IME in all tabs or only in the current tab, when multi-thread is enabled * fixed problem that browser window is not shown in multi-monitor or after changing resolution * added "Add External Tools..." command in Tools menu(reset menu bar is required) * fixed problem that Tab History sometimes not available for restored tab * fixed an add to favorites problem which may slow the show up of the favorites menu * fixed problem restoring view filter log window from minimized state * favorites are exported to IE root folder instead of a subfolder (Note: existing IE favorites will be overwritten) * fixed problem that website favicons are not updated * improved form saving efficiency Note: Security updates in this version are disabled by default (tools > safety > safety and privacy), no official reason was given yet.

Nice skin. Tab switching when auto hide is on still doesn't work. Also the same bug when in fullscreen as the beta.

At first, Merry Christmas to everybody. Thanks for the new release (nice Christmas gift although my PC's power supply died yesterday. Well, there's certainly no relationship [] ) The bug I discovered in the beta seems to be fixed. But focus stealing is still there. @Devs Do you have an official opinion about focus stealing? Is the current behavior how it's meant to be?

The Amazon bug described here seems to be fixed. The send website as mail feature is also working now. Bugs still there:
  • Micrsoft Fingerprint Reader - Login Form on some websites not recognized, not SSL depended
  • Adhunder still working unreliable; not removing the free adspace when opening more than one tab
Btw, the Xmas skins sure is a good idea but it really hurts my eyes. []

Skin is delightful. [] Nice thought. Good, too, to produce faster page loading for those with more modest equipment and less well developed web infrastructures. Keep up the good work!

Thanks! Nice X-mas skin too [] All the Security Updates are still disabled by default. Is this intentional? []
Mmmm, this release doesn't seem to remember it's window position correctly. It changes the window width when restarted to full width. Not very useful on a widescreen monitor with a resolution of 1680x1050.... update: This will only happen if I set the height of the window to 1020px (right above the taskbar for me), with a height of 1019px Maxthon will remember it's width correctly... Also, while I was typing this the focus was removed from this textarea when the "logged in as Neo101" message appeared in the statusbar.
This time, I want forget any crticism or bug comments and say thanks to all development team for this New Year release gift. []

We are aware of this problem. To be honest, we are still working on it. Do you have IE6 installed or IE7. Some reports said it will disappear if you install IE7. Anyway, we want to solve it for all IE versions.

Thanks for mentioning this Mr Shark. I would never have noticed otherwise. " border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Great to see this. It's what we need: communication from devs. We need to know that problems are being worked on. " border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

[IF] Multi-thread support is disabled [AND] Enhanced page context menu is enabled [THEN] Right clicking a form field i get this "enhanced" menu, unable to fill forms. (at the left side of the screenshot is the working menu)
Thanks for another release. I'll ask this question again, maybe someone will answer this time []

Is the "Check for updates" function supposed to be working? Because I'm using M2 since one of the first betas and this function never found any updates.
When I check for updates with my 2.0.6 version it looks like it's actually checking for the updates (the progress bar is progressing), but it doesn't find anything. Could somebody tell me if it's suposed to find the 2.0.7 update? Thanks []

The update will be put online after we feel there is no serious bug in the release.

Didn't sink in immediately, but that means you have taskbar auto-hidden and M2 vertically stretched to the max to get 1020px showing on the statusbar, Yep [] Most weird to see it suddenly resize itself to full width when restarting. (not even maximized! no, really full width) oooh...I want this on the right-click of the restore button (size to full width/height) coz maximize always only does so on 1 monitor.
Merry Christmas and thanks for the skin, looks great! []

No, I don't have the taskbar auto-hidden, 1020 is the size found in config.ini, not on the statusbar. For some reason they are not the same...
So it happens when the statusbar reports 1013px.

Aren't these security updates simply outdated?
AFAIK, these things are all patched by Microsoft.

Whiteshark1 [] ... what is the default method for the Magic Fill item if you want it to fill in form fields? [] (hint: remember you are now looking at the same type menu item as in the other parts of M2's UI, unlike the one on the left menu in your image)
