It does come with WMP11!

Maybe this is MS' way of eventually removing the need to support earlier versions of either.
I suppose you could GOTO EXTREMES to keep whatever WMP version you have BEFORE TAKING SP3 by doing the following:
Find ALL FILES related to WMP
UNCHECK "ARCHIVE" ON THE PROPERTIES (SO IT ISNT REPLACED EVEN WHEN 'LOCKED')
LOCK ALL WMP FILES!!!!!!!! (SO THEY CANT BE REMOVED)
That might be a way to avoid having 11 forced on you.........
