Now we have a direct button to initiate split view, which is a much better solution because the drag -> drop > submenu method was not all that intuitive to a lot of people.
the way I remember it..you only had to drag an existing tab, to the far left for a vertical split.. and to the bottom for a horizontal split.. that was extremly fast setup for chucking tabs onto another split view.. anyone who thinks this new method is better is well //just is

realizing that you are beyond the point where you might still appreciate any M2 feature, dragging stil works here...it even closes the split if it's the last tab dragged. (how many lemons _did_ you ate?)
no you don't get me, i'm not talking about clicking a split view button and then dragging a tab.. sure that works.. but a useless extra steps from functionality that originally just allowed you to grab a tab and throw it to the side of the window, would instantly split the view, accordingly... and open that tab address. now that is better! .. not this new re-implentation of suckyness...
so for me removing faster, better functionality in replace of something inferior is not something i support, I kinda of see what you are saying Jarc , but it really means nothing.. I don't see no dev in here explaining what is going on, and what is likely to happen in the future with this feature or anything else for matter..
all faith is lost.
